2510.0. "Help wanted from U.K." by JGO::SHERLOCK (Quid non Deo Juvante) Thu May 25 1989 08:49

    Hi,
Can any of you U.K. readers of this notesfile give me the names,
addresses and phone numbers of any Russian/British Blue breeders
they happen to know ? Preferably in the West Yorkshire, or Suffolk
    area.
Russian/British Blues are *very* rare here in the Netherlands,
more or less unobtainable, so I am prepared to make the trip across
    to England to get one.

    Thanks

    Tim

I know what Russian Blues are, and I know what British Shorthairs
are, but what are Russian/British Blues?

Pennie Greene from this notesfile breeds Russian Blues, but she
is here in the States. She has beautiful Russians, and she may
consider shipping you a kitten. You can send her mail to:
GLINKA::GREENE, she has been out of work this week, and is probably
    behind in notes.

    Blue,
Re .3, Shayne, thanks for the addresses, I'll be contacting
them today, if I have no luck I'll let you know then perhaps you
could add a few more names to the list. Cheers !
Meanwhile if there's anyone else out there that can help me
    please let me know.

    Thanks again

2510.5Some more (when I get the chance)...MVSUPP::SYSTEMDave Carr 845-2317Fri May 26 1989 05:2116
Tim,
I sorted out some names from Suffolk and Yorkshire for you last night,
and will Vaxmail them to you when I get chance to enter them.

British Blues are comparatively more common here than Russian Blues,
and are enjoying a period of popularity due to a certain TV advertisement
(Sheba cat food), which features a very affectionate specimen. Be aware
that some breeders may think you are trying to get a British Blue on a
"whim" because of this advert.

There don't seem to be many Russian Blue breeders in the North, and I couldn't
find any in Suffolk. I have an address for you in Selby, which as you probably
know is a short run from Leeds. The next nearest breeder I know of is in
Cleveleys (nr. Blackpool).

    Tim,

I know that this is not the area you were looking for, but a DECCIE
at Snams breeds British Blues and Turkish Fantails at Newbury.
His name is Eric Rein @USH DTN 7849 3450 who is absolutely besotted
with his cats. Give him a call and have a chat.

Remember that they need a Rabies injection and certificate for
    travelling.

    Good hunting

    Elly

2510.7Where-O-Where are you?GLINKA::GREENECat LadyTue May 30 1989 15:3210
I can pass along the names of two Russian Blue breeders in
    Denmark.

I can't tell from the base note if you are in England or
    Netherlands or ???

Egalia's Farina Jorry of Meowsky arrived from Denmark in
March to join us here in the Boston area. A [soon-to-be]
kitten from Meowsky will be heading over to Denmark when
she is old enough. Maybe two of them!
