2405.0. "Paddlefoot (NOTE 415.368) adoption" by EMIRFI::KEENER () Wed Apr 26 1989 18:42

We have adopted "Paddlefoot" from note 415.368 (or should I
say she has agreed to adopt us. We have renamed her "Sasha".

She and the two cats already in residence were not overjoyed
with each other at first and she opted to take over my oldest
son's room for about five days. Each day she wandered out more
and more and last night she and our mini-Morris (10 months)
were chasing each other and playing and all three were eating
together. We plan to have her spayed soon so there won't be
a problem of finding more homes when so many orphans are out
there. My two males are already neutered so there is no
    	immediate danger of procreation.

Sasha is so homely she is cute and the other cats available
on note 415.368 are very pretty - we felt they would have a
better chance that poor homely little Sasha.

We are sending a letter to Mr. Crozman, the poor man that had
to give up his kitties to let him know how well Shasha is doing.
I'm sure it was heartbreaking for him - it would be for me and
hopefully this will cheer him up.

2405.1Melynda & Tymothee-tooCRUISE::NDCThu Apr 27 1989 09:1531
Well, since I'm current guardian of the other two Crozman Cats,
this looks like a good place to post an update.
Melynda - soon to be named Tiffany by Sherry Conger who will
be giving he a permanent home, was spayed yesterday and will
be returning home this afternoon. She is a beautiful and loving
kitty who has fit in fine with our group so far and is now sleeping
with me at night. She's assertive enough to make a space for
herself without being aggressive to the others. She LOVES to
play - especially with the kitty tease - and growls when she's
having fun! She's quite a vocal little girl and her meow is
    quite pleasant.

Tymothee-too: Well we've launched a "keep Tymothee awake" campaign.
This consists of finding Tymothee - not an easy task - and then
playing with him for about a hour and giving him lots of pats and
cuddles. The idea here is to encourage him to be awake during some
of our normal waking hours so he sleeps more during the night.
Tymothee seems to like C/D dry and munched down a whole bowl of
it last night. This is great because C/D dry has lots of calories
and Tymothee could stand to gain some weight.
He's quite affectionate and is challenging the existing kitty
heirarchy. I've noticed that Bumpy-tail is starting to stand up
    to him which is good.
He seems afraid to come downstairs so far. If I bring him down
he panics and runs back upstairs immediately. I haven't quite
figured him out yet, but we're definitely making progress in
    getting to know each other.

Tymothee is still looking for a permanent home.

2405.2And introducing.....Willow!!!NRADM::CONGERThu May 04 1989 09:5827

Okay, now it's my turn....Michele and I went to Nancy's
house last night to pick up Melynda/Tiffany...she stole
my heart at the animal hospital and I just had to add her
to my home (along with Missy_who_is_very_pissed, and Rosie,
    	who could care less...).

Using the Nancy_DC_method_of_naming_cats, we noticed that M/T
is very graceful, long and thin, so we have decided to change
her name, for the last time, to Willow. (but Auntie Nancy can
call her anything she wants to!).

Willow was very excited about her new home, and wanted to explore
every inch last night! She must have said something offensive
to Missy, who fled in a fit of rage and hasn't been friendly
since (she'll get over it). Rosie said, `oh, we have a guest?
how nice'. She's always a gracious hostess. Missy just needs
    	to learn some manners...

After being introduced to her new family, Willow spent the whole
evening stretching up her front paws to be picked up (really!),
and talking to us while she investigated her suite. :P Hopefully
Missy will get over her jealousy SOON, so things will calm down
    	a bit...Rome wasn't conquered in a day, I guess...*sigh*...

    	Sherry, Rosie, Missy, and Willow.
