Don't talk to me about "crazy" with THREE furr-balls....
When you get to TWELVE, like we have, THEN you can start talking
"crazy".... (I only wish we had the time, space and money to take a
THOUSAND of these abused, abandoned and/or neglected dogs and cats into
our homes and lives....)
By the way....I thought all cats were self-training with the
litter-box. We have a cat that's two years old that we found abandoned
at birth by it's natural mother, and WE certainly didn't have any
"mother-cat-digging-in-the-litter-box" skills, so I have to assume that
she learned by either seeing the other two cats or she learned by
instinct....

Well I'm not used to having cats....when I lived at home
we didn't have any, cuz my mom doesn't like them....the
reason I ask if I'm crazy is cuz my "li'l monster" is
driving me batty just by herself....but I wouldn't give
her up for the world.... she's momma's "Sashababykitty"
as I call her....
So everyone will keep an eye out for pure blacks and whites
for me? even a lead on a shelter would be great....I'd
love to save one from a terrible demise.....Cary and I
donated 4 cans of cat food and dog food every week when
we went grocery shopping in Lowell...unfortunately the
store we shop at in Nashua doesn't have it...unless we
change stores!! they donated it to the Merrimack Valley
Animal Shelter or something..... always felt good feeding
the little buggers that I never saw!!

But ain't it fun to have 'em??? Every night when we go home, they're
there to greet us...NO questions asked..... They could care less what
we did and to who during the day... All they have in their minds is
"Hey!!! MOMMY(of Daddy) IS HOME!!!"

| Hi
I see that your looking for either a pure white kitten or pure black.
My 2 year old cat just had a litter or three on Tuesday 21 so they
are only 3 days old but we are looking for good homes for these great
kittens. And I do have one pure black Im not to sure if its a male
or female at this point. We really need to get ride of some we
have 8 of them. So if your interested let me know they will be
ready to leave in early May.

| I think what Donna means is that she is sick of the people who let
their females have litter after litter and then desperately try to find
homes for the kittenI don't know the circumstances behind .12's
2 year old female's litter; however, it makes me wonder why the
cat hasn't been spayed and is allowed to breed and bring even more
unwanted kittens into this already overpopulated world.
Donna - I hope I didn't just put words into your mouth. If so,
I apologize.

If I picked up on it right reply 13 was a noter brought to extreme
frustration and exasperation..... Can't say I blame her in the
least and we all know you've got to let it out.....
Following 13's lead I will not go into further discussion even
though god knows I certainly would love too........
But I will add as of last night there were quite a few kittens
at the Humane Society in Nashua. I believe the original noter is
in Nashua. The cages are almost all full for the older cats up for
adoption with more coming in. Need I say more.......

I just got off the phone with the Humane Society located in
Nashua and they currently have no kittens up for adoption (due to
too young or 10 day hold) and have 13 plus cats up for adoption.
They have around 13 actually in the adoption room and more that
are ready to be put up for adoption but cannot be shown in the adoption
room due to lack of space. We were there last night and I saw them
all and knew they couldn't have gone that quickly (how I wish).
Nashua's number is 883-8512. Perhaps he called a different shelter?
I don't remember seeing any all black or white kittens and I believe
there is only one totally black cat at the moment. As far as age
though I don't know.

Sorry about the confusion. The only thing I can think of is
that someone else may have picked the phone up who really didn't
know exactly what they had there for adoption. The girl I talked
to is the one that normally always answers the phone and didn't
remember anyone calling at 10:00 or later so it sure does sound
like someone else whom wasn't in the know so to speak gave out
inaccurate info.
Sorry again for the misinformation and if you'd like I'd
be happy to keep my eyes open for any black or white kittens in
the future.

| Yes, Roberta and Kim, your evaluations were right. Sometimes
I think I've been reading this file too long. I made my first
entry into FELINE in July 1985, that's almost 4 years ago.
The pet overpopulation problem isn't getting any better and I
admit to becoming increasingly frustrated with people who
don't spay/neuter their pets, people who get rid of cats because
they get new carpet, and on and on and on. Kim, I don't know
how you can stand being involved with a shelter and seeing this
kind of thing go on, seemingly endlessly. What is it? 8-10
MILLION cats and dogs are euthanized each year! That is an
incredible number...hard to comprehend.
So, sorry folks for cluttering up the file with my primal
screams, but I just couldn't help it.

| I have nightmares about beautiful, healthy animals being put to
sleep or worse being used for research. When I scream, its usually
at home and Mao usually comes running (mmrrooww???!). So you're
speaking for alot of us.
I hope the woman with the kittens will have her cat spayed.
I have applications for low cost spay...you just have to ask.
