2277.0. "Declawed kitty[s] wanted" by 3D::HAKKARAINEN (Sandra Hakka_Rain_en) Tue Mar 07 1989 15:20

My son and his wife would like a declawed cat, or even
cats. They don't want to declaw a cat, but will offer
a home to an already declawed animal.

Any suggestions ... such as where we'd find such a kitty?

          Hi,

I do not know in what area you live or what area you would
consider going to but if you check note 415 near the end you'll
see that the Humane Society in Nashua N.H. had a declawed cat (who
was beautiful) last week. If that area is ok for you people and
if the kitty is not there you can also have your name put on a list
so when one does come in they'll let you know. You would be surprised
how many declawed cats I have seen at the shelter. I'm sure its
the same for any area. Whatever area you live in the shelters will
be one of your best bets. If I can be of any further help you can
contact me at the above node.

                                     Good-luck

    HI,

You might want to check out note #2286 also. They have two Siamese
declawed kitty's available in another shelter.

If these kittens are placed with the author of this note, it would
be less stressful for them to adjust to their new home first, and
then be declawed. Declawing and moving at the same time could be
too much for them to adjust to at once.
