| This same thing happened to us. When I lived at home we had
2 persians, Bubbles and Sammy. They had 2 litters of kittens
together which were beautiful. After the 2nd litter of kittens
we decided to get Bubbles spayed. She was real thin and we
were worried that having kittens was wearing her out. At that
time we didn't know about having male cats neutered. We just
thought that females were the only ones that mattered.
When we brought Bubbles home from the Vets after being spayed,
Sammy, who was a very hefty cat, attacked her viciously. They
fought and fought, hissing and growling. Unfortunately, they
were incompatible, and everytime they were together it would
be the most hellacious fight. They would actually injure each
other and because of this we were forced to place them in cages
at night and let one out at a time. This was terrible. It
disrupted the house. This arrangement lasted for over 5 years.
After I had left home, my mother got fed up with it. And one
day just let the two cats out and go at each other. The fight
was awful, but after it was over with, Bubbles started licking
Sammy and they were a loving couple all over again.
To this day, we don't know what caused the problem. I always
thought it was the lack of a female smell on Bubbles. And Sammy
must have thought of her as a different cat invading his
territory.
I notice now that when I bring one of my two cats to Vets for
a vaccination or something, when I get home with it, the smell
is strange to the other cat, and momentarily there's a real
bad fight. I solve this problem by taking a small blanket that
both sleep on and rubbing it all over the Cat that went to the
Vets. Either I'm rubbing the Vet scent off, or I'm rubbing the
Cat scent back on. Whatever...it works... And all is well.
Try this, it might help. It could just be the smell is different.
Try rubbing it on all the cats, and maybe they will all smell the
same to each other and stop fighting...I hope. Good Luck!
