2205.0. "A Vet. around B-borough?" by CURIE::HAMMOND (Drew Hammond - Product INSIGHT) Mon Feb 06 1989 10:14

    It is time for my cat, Tribble's (like in Star Trek), checkup.
    She is also feeling a bit "under the weather". Any vet recommendations
    in the Boxborough area? Anyone had any experience with the animal
    hospital in Stow (Stow or Apple Country Animal Hospital?)?

    Any info. is appreciated.

      - Drew (and Tribble)

    	I took my cat to Apple Country when she was sick, and Dr
    	Schaeffer was great with her! (I'm biased, I used to work
    	for her...). I think they have reasonable prices, and they
    	even sent me a thank-you note after her surgery in gratitude
    	for choosing their hospital. Even though it's a 45 min ride for
    	me, I will be bringing all my kids up there from now on!

2205.2A Vet who Only Makes House Calls!!!CSG::MYERSTue Feb 07 1989 10:0823
    We use a great fellow who just does house calls. If you need any
    hospitalization he works at the Wakefield Animal Emergency Hospital
    during the wwkends. He lives in Littleton and has a number of critters
    and is a real animal lover. He's been very knowlegable and sensitive
    with us and very loving to our kitties. He's a young fellow and
    we really appreciate the house calls rather than adding to the vet
    visit trauma by putting them in the car. He was recommended to
    us by our neighbors who all use him successfully as well. His name
    is Dr Greg Baron and his number is 692 9297. Oops, I see he lives
    in Westford. But that probably isn't too far for him. I should
    also mention that when we needed emergency hospital facilites (x-rays,
    etc) we used the Emergency Hospital in Acton on 2A at his
    recommendation, and it was very much to our satisfaction. I guess
    all the surrounding vets use that for the weekends anyway. You
    may find that the convenience of his coming out is so great that
    you needn't be tied to the closest vet, like those in Stow.

    Let me know if you need any more info and feel free to tell Greg
    I gave you his name. Good luck with whatever you choose.

2205.3-< Concord Carlisle Animal Hospital>-RETORT::BREDAWed Feb 08 1989 12:5011

    I've been bringing my cats (and dog) to the Concord Carlisle Animal
    Hospital for many years. Although they are in Carlisle, I have
    found the doctors there to be excellent - so they are well worth
    the trip from Acton. They also recommend the Animal Emergency Hospital on
    route 2A in Acton for after-hours problems.

    Good Luck,

2205.4Acton Animal HospitalCURIE::HAMMONDDrew Hammond - Product INSIGHTMon Feb 20 1989 11:409
    Well, shortly after I entered this note a friend recommended Acton
    Animal hospital (on Rt. 27). I took Tribble to see Dr. Kennison
    (sp?) and was very satisfied. He was polite, knowlegable and
    inexpensive.

    Thank you for all your replies.
