Is it shedding season? I thought it was kind of early in the year for it, but if shedding is weather related, maybe that's the answer. Why do I ask? As Oscar and I were having our morning cuddle session, as I was stroking his back, i was pulling out great big handfuls of hair (not on purpose of course). -Nancy

Has Oscar been spending much time lying in the sun? The cat's body knows it is time to shed based on the amount of light it is getting. This is why indoor cats always seem to be sheding. Deb

I don't know what he does all day - Our apartment doesn't really get that sunny. But since it has been so warm lately, he has practically been living outside - as soon as I get home from work, he goes out, might pop in for a bite to eat, but otherwise stays outside until morning. Do artificial lights count? -nancy

I called the vet on Saturday as Mocha has matts and is shedding like crazy, and when I comb Ming there is a lot of loose hair. She gets done every day. The assured me it was that time. Early to be sure but the winter coats are coming off in all the animals they treat. Barbara |
