2162.0. "ACCLAIM PET FOOD" by WFOVX4::BAIRD (Reality..for those who can't handle SF) Thu Jan 19 1989 15:16

                  ACCLAIM PET FOOD

Hi! I'm Debbi, I've been reading this file for awhile but haven't
had a chance to chime in with naything until now.
Just a brief intro: between my S.O. and myself, we have 5 cats
    and 1 dog.

Nikki:black, female, std Poodle, 9mos thinks she's really a cat!

Momma Kitty:(M.K.) calico-old b**ch-to animals only, loves to be
    petted!

Duchess: black and white, long haired and klutzy.

Isis: grey and black stripe big pig!

Sable: All black w/doz. white hairs on belly, 3/4 Siamese, lovable
    imp! my baby.

    Jasper: Sable's double(almost) the youngest

All cats are female cause M.K. won't put up with males. Intro over,
now to the food info. We go to a bulk center near us called Soda
and Pet Food city (cute!) in Agawam, MA. (next to W. Springfield)
They carry most brands in large amounts. We go to get dry food mostly.
A new food was being showcased at special prices - both dog and
cat food. 4 lbs dry- reg.$3.49 was $1.99. We grabbed 2 of each
and a few of the cans.
Nikki liked both of the foods and she's a Mighty Dog puppy!
the "girls" (cats) liked the dry food and all but M.K. like the
canned food (4 out of 5 's not bad!)
the quality is supposed to be equal to IAMS and the like. Sorry,
I didn't write down the nutritional info, but I'll get it by Monday
at the latest. Or if nayone else lives in the area and wants to
check it out and find out prices for the larger sizes--be my guest!
I figure if I can get most of the "herd" to eat "cheap", I've
gained a victory! The "girls" still love their Friskies though,
oh well-- thank god for coupons!

    Bye for now.

    Debbi and the "herd".

Hi Debbi. I too go to Pet Food City when I get a chance to
go home (Agawam) and visit. Last time I was there I purchased
the Science Diet which seems to be the same price I pay
elsewhere. I've never heard of 'Acclaim' - will check it
out next time I'm there. Thanks.

    Sue
