| Patty,
Take her to the vet. It could do some serious damage to her eye
if it is any kind of infection.

| I agree with Holly. We had some trouble with Bumpy (the 11 yo)
for a while. She got what looked like deposits on the cornea.
It didn't seem to bother her any, but the vet was quite concerned.
I wouldn't mess with anything having to do with the eye. And
not all medicines are really expensive. Isis recently had
a mild eye inflammation and the vet just told us to get boric
acid (make sure its for eyes) and treat her with that. It cleared
up fine and didn't cost much at all.
But again, ask the vet.

| Take her to the Vet quickly or you could catch it - it sounds
like conjunctivitis. It's very contagious.

| Sneakers had a problem similar to your cats - the vet said his
third eyelid (I didn't know they have three, but I guess they
do) was scratched, probably while he was wrestling with his
buddy Pretzel.
Anyway, I had to put ointment in his eye for about a week to
clear it up.
I would definitely have it checked - eye infections could turn
serious very easily.

how she makes out.
Thanks for the replies!

2104.7 | Update on Katie | PLANET::GOLDEN | | Thu Jan 05 1989 11:52 | 9 |
| Well, Katie went to the vet this morning. He told me that she got
her sore eye from a fight with another cat. The claw tore at
her eyelid (ouch!!!) I've got some ointment to put on her eye
3 times a day to keep it from getting infected. I was relieved
to know it was nothing too serious.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
