I havn't noted here for awhile pretty much because I have a new job and havn't had the time to read Feline. But I wanted to tell you a story about my stray cat. This past summer I had a stray cat come into the yard while we were eating and cooking on the grill. He look really tattered and dirty. I started throwing scraps to him and he would take a piece of hot dog and run off. Well each day he started to come back and the softy that I am I have been feeding him regularly. First it was when I got home from work he would show. Now he comes around in the morning and afternoon and I alson give him warm milk. I know that it's not the greatest for him. But I want to give him something to keep him warm thru the winter. The greatest thing happening is that he is getting more and more trusting of me. He first would run away and wait for me to put down the food and milk. Now he will just sit there and let me put it right in front of him. But the greatest happen today. He was not letting me pet him. Everytime I try to touch him he would run. Today I petted him for aleast 30 seconds. It was wonderful. I hope to bring him into the house someday. He is really a wonderful cat. My the way his name is Strayo. My roommate named him for obvious reasons. Denise

2101.1 | Try this for warm food on cold days.. | DRFIX::IVES | Thu Dec 29 1988 16:25 | 11 | |
Being rewarded for your patience is great for both of you. If you would like to give him something warm in this cold weather that is good for him buy a can of College Inn chicken stock at the store. It's like two cans for a $1.00. You find it in the soup section. He will really enjoy it believe me. Keep us posted on your progress with stray kittty, and welcome back to feline notes.
