1970.0. "A cat" by SACMAN::FRANCINE () Tue Nov 15 1988 11:41

    This is a sad thing..

    I have a full grown cat I can't keep. This cat must go to genuine
    cat lover who understands nuerotic cats. Found her as a stray,
    and have had her for approx 6 months - my new apt. lets me keep
    her - but she can't go outside and the place is so small I feel
    like its cruelty to animals..(landlord won't let me put her outside).

    She's and orange tiger with bulls eyes on each side of her stomach.
    Short hair, but her fur is soft as silk. Orange eyes.

    I don't want to bore everyone and drone on and on so if your interested
    send me mail and I'll drone on and on privately...

    I guess I really don't understand your note. Why give her away
    when you can keep her? Even though the place is small she should
    have no trouble adapting. Where she is only six months old and
    use to being in the house where is the problem. I have six cats
    and the last three I got are inside cats, this way I don't have
    to worry about them (just the others).

1970.2The cat will adjust...go for it.HILLST::MASONExplaining is not understandingWed Nov 16 1988 09:5711
    Along similar lines...

    I am beginning to believe that the addition of a pal for an inside
    cat eliminates every reason for them to go out. Like kids who are
    denied toys, they sulk, but get used to it (inside) after a while.
    It is so much safer for them, the choice seems a non-choice to
    me. A few paper/aluminum balls, a shoelace, and a window are all
    they need for a seemingly happy existance (besides three squares
    and a warm place to snuggle, of course).

1970.3I wouldn't like it..SACMAN::FRANCINEThu Nov 17 1988 09:4616

    No, I've had her for six months - she's a year and a half (my guess
    she's a stray).

    I feel bad cause the place is weenie and I'm gone all day and
    she's alone and I think its mean. I mean, I come home and she's
    like "thank God your here!" and then sometimes I'm only home for
    an hour and go out again.

    Re. 2 so you say I should get another cat? She has kittens I could
    keep one. But then is that okay? My place is like 2 feet by 2
    feet.

    Well maybe I'll keep her.

    Another kitten would help - maybe leaving a radio on so she
    can hear human voices -

1970.5I VOTE TO KEEP HERAIMHI::OFFENTue Dec 06 1988 11:1313

    Just checking in. Have you kept the cat. I know that my three
    babies act like I left them for at least a month each time I come
    home.

    Of course I * love * all the hugs and kisses that I get each time
    I walk through the door.

    It sounds like you have a very loving kitty. Enjoy it.
