A friend of mine just recently returned from England and brought for me two issues of "The Cat" published by The Cats Protection League. It is so well organized!! Can anyone from the the UK tell me more about TCPL. The magazines list shelters administered by the CPL, and affiliated organizations, as well as hospital groups. Where does it get funding? Is it also affiliated with the SPCA in London. It also stated that some items always wanted at Headquarters included Used British and Foreign postage stamps on trimmed paper; and cat combings. What are cat combings? Also- what do you think the stamps are used for? I have seen some really lovely designs and pictures made from stamps. Could this be it? Anyway, the magazines were great to read. Thanks for the info. Pat

Some stamp dealers buy used postage stamps and resell them, like for $2 for some huge bag full. It's likely a way the group raises money. |
