Most trailer parks use the lot # method. Are there any near you?
Seems like this would be the best place to start.
Sounds like Bandit does have a family. Hope you can find them soon.

Yes there are some in Merrimack. I'll try that tonight.
And as a side note. IF I cannot find the family Bandit will be
up for adoption (you couldn't ask for a sweeter cat), it's breaking
my heart that I can't keep her if my search is fruitless. Even
a temporary home at this point till I find the owners would be
appreciated.... It's just too cold for this little one outside

| Kim, not knowing where you live in Merrimack, are there new house
developments around you. New construction often use the lot # before
the roads are accepted by the town and they assign house numbers.
Just a suggestion.

| Kim, is it possible you could bring Bandit in until the owner is
located. Possibly put her in a room by herself, once your cat gets
use to the sent maybe they could get along or just tolerate one
another like one of mine. I'd take it if the owner couldn't be
found but the inn is full (six). Actually I'd take all the strays
in if I could but my husband would kill me. Good luck on finding
the owner.

I've tried both trailer parks in Merrimack. One of them has
no lot 35 but the other does!!! The man was so sweet he gave me
their name and phone number. However I got an answering maching
so I have no idea yet... As far as new development we live near
Pennichuck Square. There's a little new development but the houses
aren't built yet. That'll be our next route if the mobile home
idea doesn't pan out. On us taking in the cat. Well it goes like
this. We live in an apartment that was built by my in-laws. Number
one there isn't a room we could put her in where she would be
segregated from the rest and of course the most important reason.....
The cat limit has been set at two but we've got three which was
not happy news for them. So another is totally out of the question
unfortunately :^(. So again if anyone from the area has any ideas
of new developments that match with lots please let me know and
I'll go door-knocking tonight if I need to.

| I am not in the southern part of Merrimack that often, but when
I was looking around this summer their was some new development
off of Naticook Road ( I think that is the name). From MK1 you
take camp seargant road - bear right on to Naticook road - about
a mile up on the left there is some new construction. One of the
roads I remember is Dana road. Is this any where near you? If
you need help checking it out I will be glad to help. I live in
Merrimack and work right here in MK01 so I can hop out at lunch
time it take a look! DTN 264-2951.

| The new development near the Thorton Ferry Elem. Sch. & Camp Sargent
is _mostly_ empty, but there are one or two families moved in.
At least there's someone in the new house that actually fronts on
Camp Sargent/Naticook Rd. and I think I saw moving stuff turning
in heading toward one of the others on the street leading to the
gazebo. I've never noticed what the lot numbers are though.
Gee, I'm a LOT of help...

Well Bandit is still with us. Never got a call back from
the trailer park so that axes him out. Spent the night going to
every development we could find around knocking on doors.... Even
found a lot 35 and boy was my heart thumping... But no so back
home we went. I know Bandit did not just drop out of the skies.....!!
Anyway at this point I am asking for a temporary or permanent home
for Bandit. If its permanent I'd like to make a few last phone
calls today and then she's yours.
I found out she is litter-boxed trained and a very well-behaved
cat. She slept with us last night (my husband says thats it...
:^( and she did not disturb at all. She wants to be an indoor
cat as she had no intentions of going out this morning at all.
Very affectionate but not overbearingly so. If anyone can help
please get in touch with me. Me and my husband agree she is about
5 months old. And totally black with the little bend at the end
of her tail. Anyone want to give themselves a Halloween present?

| You can run a "Found" ad for three days with no charge in the Manchester
Union Leader. This newspaper is widely distributed in NH, so it would
reach a lot of people. It might be worthwhile to run an ad in other
local papers (which may not be free), such as the Broadcaster.
Depending on how much work you want to do (since the cat may have been
dumped), you could call the police and the Humane Society to see if
anyone's reported a lost cat, and put up ads in the grocery store(s).
If her owner doesn't turn up soon, I hope you can at least keep her
inside until the Halloween madness is over.

The Telegraph will also let you place a "found" ad with no charge.
They do, however, charge for "lost" ads.

Well as of right now I think..... (fingers crossed) it may
be very soon that Bandit is picked up to be brought to her new home
unless the owners are found or unless she doesn't work out etc....
I'm not going to spoil the surprise seeing its a fellow noter and
wouldn't take the fun out of telling which one.... I'll leave that
to her..... They'll either tell us what a horror Bandit is or what
a love. I've got my fingers crossed for her to be a good girl.
The biggest curiousity I have is how old she really is. At first
we had her about 5-9 months and after watching her for two nights
she may be older.
I'm still continuing looking for the owners. Like I said
we went door-knocking the other night. Nashua Telegraph will be
running the found ad this week-end. The other ones I'll hit will
be Manchester Union, the two local Merrimack papers, and the
Broadcaster. I'll put a little poster up at the area supermarkets
and little markets. And of course I'm in touch with Nashua Humane
and the merrimack controller. If no owners claim her then lot #
may have meant something I didn't want to consider. I would assume
that this method would be used in some type of research lab. I
had better not find out there is one in the vicinity. How I would
find out I really don't know. But anyways....
Thanks to our fellow noter she will have affection and shelter.
She couldn't have asked for better. Please keep her in mind in
case things don't work out and the owners are not found.

her name is Maureen Minton 424-3774...she hold all calls on lost
or found animals....give it a try

| Well folks, I am the mysterious person who now has Bandit.
She is a lover - purrs and kneeds all the time. She spent the weekend
in my older son's bedroom very content to sleep on his bed and be
loved.
We took him to the vet on Saturday. Turns out she is between 1
and 2 by his estimation. She has been very well cared for - spayed,
no ear mites, very clean. We had a FELV test done - will get the
results this week. That is why she has been confined to the bedroom.
I really don't want to expose Bob or Bitser to anything.
I am going to make a good effort to find her owner this week. She
is so well cared for and so loving that I feel someone must really
be missing her. If I can't find the owner, then I will have to
make some descision. But we will exhaust all possibilities first.
Wish me luck. She is a lover. By the way - she is an official
Halloween cat - all black with wonderful yellow eyes.....

| Here's the latest update on Bandit.
We got her leukemia test results - negative. So I have been able
to give her free reign in the house. That has worked - sort of.
My other cats have accepted her pretty well. Bitser, who is 11,
hissed a few times, but now just tries her best to ignore her, as
she does all the other animals in the house. I think she is trying
to convince herself that she is the only pet in the house. Or maybe
she considers all the others pets, and she is just another person
in the house.
Bob, who is about 8 months old, would like to play with Bandit.
But then, Bob wants to play with everyone and everything. After
all, isn't life just a big toy??? Bandit is cautious, but I think
those two could become good friends. They spent last night in my
daughter's room on the bed together.
The problem is that the dogs, or more specifically the male dog,
has decided that Bandit is to be chased out of our life. It started
when Nicky ran full force at poor Bandit, because Nicky run full
force at everything in life. Well, I don't think Bandit has ever
had to live with a dog because she sure wasn't happy with this.
She hissed and swatted at Nicky which really made him mad. He is
now out to get her good. He does not want this creature in his
house.
Kim and I have contacted all the vets in the area, the animal control
officers in both Merrimack and Amherst, the Nashua Humane Society,
and put notices in the Nashua and Merrimack papers. Still no owner
has turned up. I don't know what else to do.
By the way, when I called the vets, most of them had lists of pets
that people had reported missing. I wasn't aware that vets did
this, but just called on a whim. So for future reference, that
is another place for lost and found pets.
Anyway, we are holding our own. If things don't settle down between
Nicky and Bandit, I will have to find a new home for her. She is
a lover. She is beautiful black, has considerable siamese in her,
especially her voice, and would be very content to be an indoor
cat. She is very healthy, eats well, and is clean and neat.
