    The Littleton Independent talked about how moose sightings are
    increasing as they have less and less undeveloped land to habitat.
    The last one they 'had to shoot' due to the possible danger to a
    motorist.  I understand the danger, but it seemed such a shame that
    they had to kill it...

      Re. Moose/and wildlife in general...
    
      I heard an even more horrible tale that happened recently in Acton
    Ma. A Moose was discovered in town, and the BRILLIANT political
    hacks cornered it and tranqualized it. Then they discovered that
    they didn't know what to do with a tranqualized Moose, so they shot
    it in the head and dumped it in the town dump.
    
      I agree wholeheartedly that we WILL pay for what we are presently
    doing to not only wildlife, but to the entire planet Earth. Our
    self-aggrandizing politicians are more interested in their personal
    power-growth than they are in doing their duties, and their legacy
    will most likely be discovered by some race of alien beings. I doubt
    that this planet has more than a few hundred years left at the present
    rate of RAPE of the environment. 
    
      This month's AUDUBON magazine has another distressing article
    about the polution and acid rain that is presently destroying the
    Adirondack forests. The Appalacian forests are sick and dieing,
    the Black Forest in Europe is almost dead, the lakes in the eastern
    U.S. are largely acidified to the point where fish are not able
    to reproduce, and about 35% of them will not even support adult
    fish, yet our lovely Senators have recently passed a 2.5 billion
    dollar drug bill that legislates against stupidity. Homeless people
    wander the streets, and the pols do nothing to help these folks.
      WHile I'm typing this note, approximately 300 acres of the Amazon
    rain forest has gone up in smoke....
    
      I don't know whether man is CAPABLE of smartening up at this point!!

    I am sitting here is a state of shock.  I realize that the situation
    was bad, but note this bad.
    
    Last year I was goingto Acton on 119 and on the side of the road
    layed a Deer.  A nice man stopped to help the Deer out, not the
    person that hit him, they were long gone.  I cried all the way to
    were I was going.  The person that I picked up could not believe
    why I was crying and told me to stop, which only made it all the
    worse.
    
    Everyday I see more and ore animals on the side of the road and
    people just keep running them over again.  Wasn't once enough??
    
    The other day I was in Hudson  and in front of me there was a cat
    trying to cross the street, do you think that the person in front
    odf me would even slow down???? Of course not!  He missed the cat
    and I will tell you right now it's a good thing.. cuz if he had
    hit it he would have had to answer to me.  And I know that I am
    not a pretty sight when I am mad.

    RE:.4 Linda the same thing happened to a friend of mine only the
    guy in front of her hit the cat and never braked or swerved to try
    and avoid it (I know sometimes it can't be help).  Well my friend
    stopped and checked it out, the cat was grazed and limping so she
    took off after the guy and got him to pull over and yelled at him.
    He told her he was late for work that's why he didn't stop, and
    she told him he better go back and take care of the cat or she was
    going to turn his plate number into the cops, and he went back.

    I know sometimes it can't be helped, but this guy actually swerved
    in the direction the cat was going.  I was going to take his plate
    number, but I was to worried about if the cat was o.k. that I looked
    after it was to far away to read it.
    
    The cat was scared S_____S, I stopped to see if I could calm it
    down, he ran away.

    Some people are in just to much of a hurry to care if they hit an
    animal.  I have lost two cats right in front of my home and who
    ever hit them didn't bother to stop and find out where they belong.
    
    I think they believe that it will take time away from them because
    they have to find the owner and probably get involved with the police.
    They are many people who just don't care about animals and don;t
    realize what they mean to us.
    
    Believe me everytime I see a cat, squirral or chipmonk in the road
    I'm careful not to hit and try to get them back on the side of the
    road.

    I would have a lot more confidence that the cat would be taken care
    of by doing it myself.  How does she know he isn't doing to just
    dump the cat somewhere?
    

    I TOO HAVE STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES ON RTE 2 GOING TO FITCHBURG, OR
    GARDNER, AND PICKED WANDERING DOGS ON THE ROAD.  DO YOU THINK ANYONE
    WOULD STOP AND HELP?  OF COURSE NOT, SOME PEOPLE JUST DON'T GIVE
    A DAMN.  ANYWAY I FOUND OUT HOW OWNED THE DOGS AND RETURNED THEM
    SAFELY AT HOME.
    
    MY HUSBAND THINKS I AM CRAZY, BECAUSE THE DOGS COULD OF BIT ME,
    BUT ALL I AM INTERESTED IN IS HELPING THE ANIMALS.  BESIDES THE
    ANIMALS KNOW WHEN PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO HELP THEM, THEY CAN SENCE
    IT. RIGHT?

    Cartoon from November's ANIMALS' AGENDA Magazine shows 2 deer running
    from some hunters.  One deer says to the other,
    
     	"Why don't they thin their own damned herd?"
    
    Kinda says it all...

    Boy, I can think of a few that wouldn't be missed if they
    were thinned out!
