Last night when I returned home from work, I was greeted at my front door by the prettiest feline. I'm not sure if it was a male or female. It was gray (almost black) and light copper with white bib, mittens and boots. It also had green eyes. It appeared to be an older cat and it had definitely been well taken care of (didn't appear to be hungry). I asked all the neighbors if they new who owned this cat, but none of them did. I live in the Elm St. area of Fitchburg (near Burbank Hospital). If anyone has lost a cat in that area (or know anyone who has), that fits that description, call me at home tonight and I'll let you know if it's still there (it was there this morning). Nope. Doesn't sound like my baby. Alf is REALLY black with the white bib and paws, and that striking line down his nose. He is rather small and his eyes sometime seem too big for his head. He is ALWAYS jiggling his tail, but he hasn't quite figured out how to mark yet (thank God). He has a siamese-like cry and purrs like a motorboat. Though he genuinely likes people, he doesn't like to be held unless it's his idea. We are closer to Sterling than Fitchburg, so please Sterling noters keep your eyes open for him (Fitchburg too). I hope someone claims your kitty soon. /Denise (and Thea, Mange, Annie, Bully, Secrytes, Cassie and Smoky)

Just wanted to say that this cat is still hanging around. Sometimes I see it everyday for a week and sometimes two weeks will go by and I don't see it. It's been around everyday now for about two weeks. I don't want to let it in my apartment because I don't know whether or not it has leukemia and I'd feel just awful if it were to infect my cat. It's gotten real cold out there and I'd hate to see the poor thing freeze to death, but I just don't know what to do. Someone must be feeding it, because it still looks pretty healthy and not at all undernourished. If anyone has any suggestions as to what to do, let me know.
