Thats sooo funny!!
Usually cats take things OUT of the trashcan!
Your decription of Elmo tearing around the house reminded me
of T.K. He sometimes gets in these moods where he goes ripping
around the house, up the stairs, back down the stairs, over
one couch, over another couch, over a chair, the skidding
over the dining room table. He continues his run through the
kitchen, usually on his side since the floor is smooth. He
crashed into his water bowl, sometimes wipes the food dish
out, then flys back down the stairs. AND HE GROWLS THE WHOLE
WAY!!!
He truly seems like a hyperactive kitty and my first reaction
is to laugh but my next reaction is to tell him to calm down.
Usually, if I speak to him he stops!
I don't know what these bursts of energy mean. Maybe he is
all wired and needs to get some energy burnt fast! BUT I
NEVER see Bandit do this! Then again, it is rare that Bandit
ever moves faster than a waddle. Time for a diet.

...at least Elmo puts this stuff in the trash.
I woke up this morning to find that during the night aja had brought
all her toys (red things on milk jugs, tin foil balls, Senor Mouse,
etc.) and put them on my bed.
Not a pleasant thing to wake up to as Senor Mouse still has beer
breath...

| Heeheeeheeeheee!!! I wish my two would put the stuff IN the trash...
When my half-Siamese, Nebula, starts tearing around the house like
crazy, it usually turns out to mean that her claws need to be clipped,
like last night. For some reason hers grow much faster than The
Fickle's do (although I clip them both at the same time anyhow,
so Neb doesn't think she is being singled out for this undiginified
ttreatment by her pet human), and she doesn't seem to like to click
when she walks on the uncarpeted floors. I guess she tears around
the house hoping to wear down her claws a bit (which might work
if she went outside, but she doesn't anymore unless I'm outside),
since the "cat panic" behavior usually stops right after I clip
them. Easier on the furniture, too, since sometimes she "forgets"
to use the scratching tree.

Little Whicket also brings all of her toys up to the pillow during
the night. (milk bottle plastic things, wine corks - yuck, foil
that wine comes wraped in, twisties for plastic bags, ect - every
thing I put into the trash!)
I guess she thinks my bed is a pretty trashy place...... ;^>

At our recent Dec outing at Riverside Park, my sister-in-law won
me a little stuffed mouse. The very minute that I brought it
into the house, it caught her eye. Since that very day, the
"mouse" has become her toy. She will carry it around the house
with her. It's so funny to watch.
Our other rascal, Mijo, loves jewelry. Twice he has "stolen"
my watch. We have to be careful and lock up all our "precious"
items or else we won't have them. We recently had my sister-in-
law stay with us this summer. Her first instruction upon entering
our house was this.... "lock up your jewelry". Then I gave her
a plastic little box to put them in. Anyways, one day in August
she forgot and Mijo got ahold of her diamond ring. We looked and
looked all over the house. It was gone. Mijo had taken it. Needless
to say as her last day of vacation was approaching, we were nervous
about her leaving without her precious diamond ring. And we
searched to no avail. She went home to South America without her
ring. She's been gone now for about 2 weeks.
Last night as my husband and I were watching the debate, Mijo came
around the couch with something in his mouth. Sure enough, he
brought out the diamond ring to play with. He hid the ring until
Terri was gone so that he could keep it!!! That little rascal.
Now we have to figure out how to get the ring back to its rightful
owner.
Cats, always pleasantly surprised...... that's for sure.

| Your story about the jewlery reminds me of an acquaintance of mine
who used to keep all his gold jewlery in the bottom of his pirranha
tank.
It kept more than just the cats from stealing it.

| There's lots of furry folk and not-furry folks you cannot trust.
We hand a raccoon when growing up and my mother learned to put away
jewelry after the second ring was removed. Also had a pet crow
that liked anything shiny - at least HIS *stash* was easy to find. Now
there is Smokey who loves my watch. If I ever leave it out, I pay
the penalty of search and retrieve. I like the pirranha story though.

Yes, T.K. has been know to steal jewelry too. What a creep!
He especially loves my earings and I can't take one off without
him coming after it!
Come to think of it, he just loves small objects. He knocks
all my magnets off the refrigerator, plays with any available
pen or pencil, steels jewelry, makeup, if its small, he wants
it!

| Hmm. I have to hide my watch also. I thought my guys were weird.
I'd never heard of anyone else with a watch thief!!!
I can't leave pens around either. Lately, my Lara has started digging
in my purse - do you think she wants her allowance and wants to
go shopping for trick or treat candy? sigh I get tidier by the
day!

Isn't that the truth. I've also become tidier since the cats have
taken over. Sam also loves to steal pens, actually he prefers to
swat them out of my hand when I'm using it! The little devil!
His favorite thing is to steal my husbands cigarets and lighter.
Sam hates smoke and I think it's his way of telling John to quit.

| ah yes I forgot lighters and also Pashenka is now into scooping
butts out of the ash trays with his fingers (he has very long
toes - they are really cute toes !!). For a long time I
thought KoKo was the culprit, but the day I saw Pashenka
do it, I had to appologize to KoKo - she seems to be off
ash trays these days.
Lara steals dryer sheets and drags them around, then shreds them.
Katenka like to shred & chew magazines & paper, but most of them
are guilty of that!
oh well,

| I guess Elmo was trying to tell me something by throwing away all
the sponges. I got home last night and one of the sponges was shredded
into pieces on the bathroom floor. I guess it's time to buy a new
one!

| Bathroom! Did someone say bathroom? That reminded me of Sam's
discovery of toilette paper. It was nothing to find the entire
roll strewn around every room in the house. Thank goodness he has
outgrown that habit. As for Cali, she insists that all combs and
brushes belong on the floor and not on the counter!

I saw a clear-plastic toilet paper shield in a magazine (Miles
Kimball ?), that was specifically to keep your cat from unrolling
it all over the bathroom...What next?

| I have a Feline Foiler - only thing is that you have to still hang
it high enough so the cat can't reach the whole thing. My Lara
still messed with the T.P - she is something else. When God made
my Lara, he BROKE the mold!
