| What a *terrible* thing to have to write ----
But what a nice person you are for posting it in the hopes that
*mom or dad* work at DEC or know the owners.

| I am in the same sitation as you.
On my way to work yesterday morning on route 101A across from the
Coca Cola plant was this beautiful black cat laying on the side
of the road. No collar or anything. (Shed a few tears, ruined eye
makeup) and came to work. I called the animal officer and they
said someone would go right up and take care of the body. WELL
this morning it was still there (foolish me no waterproof mascara
this morning either). When I reached the office I called the
animal officer, chief of police, and the mayor office. I WILL go
home that way to night and check.
We live in a condo development so I have no place to bury it.
This has been really hard as my daughter had to put her childhood
black cat (lovely old gentleman) to sleep on tuesday. So it seems
that some black cats have not fared well this week.

Barbara,
I saw the same beautiful black cat last night
on the way home. I cried too all the way home and cried again this
morning. The animal officer does not pick up the deceased animals
I found out today. I believe they told me it was the Public Works
Dept. oh crap I can't remember. It's been so busy today and I didn't
write it down!!!! What I'd like to know is if someone is looking
for that cat how the HELL are they ever going to know when know
one knows who picks up the body?????????? I've been mulling over
this question all day and something has to change. The cat had
better not still be there tonight or I'm getting on the horn to
to whomever.!!!

| I live in the Whitley Street area - near London Road and the Turks
Head. If anyone is advertising a lost cat locally it'll be in the
window of our local newsagents.
If I see anything I'll let you know and break it to the owner.
Thanks for the information.

| I KNEW I shouldn't have come back into this note.....
I was just hoping that the owner had been found......
I ABSOLUTELY HATE reading things like this. Every weekend when
I drive my daughter to work, I always seem to see a cat or a kitten
on the side (or middle) of the road. I only have a twelve minute
drive and one street has a 30 mph speed limit and the other one
has 35 and 45 mph speed limits. I HATE, HATE, HATE seeing things
like that.
That's one of the reasons my kitties are indoor-only kitties......
