Felix had 4 kittens this past April. I gave away all except
one, Blaze, (male). I had Felix fixed in August. Things have been
fine between the two up until her recovery from the above surgery.
She is always hissing and spitting at her son, for most of the time,
no reason at all. Even if Blaze just walks by the chair that she
is on, she will lash out at him.
I am at a loss as to what to do. Is this normal? Will this behavior
ever stop? I plan on getting Blaze fixed soon. Will this help?
When I let them outside together, they get along better.

This is not the same but ......
Bandit was 2 and fixed. We rescued Smokey and about a month ago
at about 4 months of age he became VERY much aware that he was a
male. Poor bandit. She tried to avoid him like the plague. By
5 months Smokey was as big as Bandit and seemed rather developed
so we had the vet check and sure enough he was ready for surgery.
Now occasionally he get the idea, mounts Bandit, and then seems
to forget why, and leaves. They are getting along much better.
Maybe Felix senses her son's entry into manhood and is warning him
away. Bandit is SO meek and he did not give her a chance to say
so.
After Blaze is fixed, things may change. Also different cats mature
at different rates. Most kittens are 6 months. I am not sure I
want to see Smokey grown if he is the size of a 2 year old in heighth
and length at 5 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
