| Boy, what a HARD decision to make. Maybe taking the two that think
of you as Daddy for a few days at a time to acclimate them to your
new home and seeing how they adapt to it would help you to make
your decision.
I know I couldn't part with my three.

| I had the same problem several years back (only 3 felines and one
canine). We divided them up by "whose they were" in your sense.
So long as there are no orphans, it seems to be just fine.
Good luck.

Cats seems to do best in pairs of two. Are `your two' buddies,
or is each a buddy of one of the other ones? If they're together
all the time, then I'd say, take them. I have the same decision
coming up (for different reasons) and I have decided that I'm
going to take both cats, and the dog, because they've always
been `my' pets. Best of luck to you, you'll need your `friends'
to help you through this transition.

| Please take the two of them. They will adjust and I think
at this time of your life, you will need your "buddies" too.
Would have been lost without my two siamese!
Keep a smile! ^ ^

| I add my vote for taking them. When my SO and his wife split they
divided 8 cats by who was closest to which cat. This seems to have
worked out okay.

| Argh! Another cat-custody situation?
My choice wasn't too tough - both cats had been mine from the
beginning, and Jim didn't press to take them. But he had grown very
fond of them, and I think he really misses them.
Since your cats are going to be relocated anyway, this would be a
good time to split them up if you're going to do it at all. Most
cats dislike leaving a familiar location; if they have to get used
to a new home, getting used to being two instead of four should
be simple by comparison.

| Brian - I'm so sorry. It's wonderful that you're considering the
cats happiness in the middle of all this.
I agree with previous noters in that cats do best in pairs. Good
luck, whatever you decide.

I'm sorry to take so long to reply to all your most kind replies
for which I thank you all from the bottom of my heart... and also
to Kim who wrote a most beautiful reply through mail... I thank
you all... my final decision has also had to be based on more
circumstances than my original note described so please bear with
me... I have found, for me, the most wonderful woman and we are
going to make a home together for us and her two children... we
are not sure exactly where it is going to be as yet but we hope
to be here in Germany... but that takes time and for the cats' sake
I want to leave them all together and happy.. so I have agreed
to let my ex-wife keep them all together and hopefully they will
not miss me too much... it breaks my heart to do this even though
I will get to see them in the future, but I am sure it is for the
best...
I will be leaving DEC this week for pastures new... I would like
to thank you all for some beautiful stories, some very helpful
information and most of all for the friendship you have shown to
me and to so many people within this conference. I hope to be back
with you all soon but que sera sera...
I wish you all the happiness you would wish each other and twice
as much as well...
Thanking you again
Brian
