    Does anyone have (or know of) a nursing mother cat that might take
    one more little mouth to feed?
    
    The person who has the mother cat and kitten is desperate.  She
    wants to keep both the mom and baby but it seems the mom is not
    producing milk.  There were only two kittens born to this cat Sept.
    2nd and the smallest kitten was born very tiny and weak.  The mother
    cat killed and ate this baby this past Friday probably because it
    was a weakling and also she knew she could not nurse it.  The owner
    is quite concerned that the other baby may be lost too.
    
    She only wants a nursing mom to take the kitten until weaned and
    then she'd like it back.  She plans to spay mom cat and spay/neuter
    baby when time comes.  
    
    I did suggest to the owner to take both mom and baby to vet's for
    checkup; ask her vet for nursing mom cats (or even dogs sometimes
    will accept kittens to nurse) and to check with local shelters.
    She and hubby are at work all day and kids in school so nobody there
    to take on eyedropper feeding of baby.

	The kitten is located at my house in Nashua... Well, hey, I figured Meg wouldn't mind! She's a bit confused, but she licked the little mite from head to toe and although the little one has to fight for a spare spigot, he seems to be doing OK. The other kittens seem most amused, but they curled up around him and are all sleeping together. He hasn't nursed all that much, but I think Meg will tolerate him OK. Talk about the inn being full....... FosterMom Mary

	Well, I got a few minutes sleep, but not much! This morning, the little guy was nursing well from Meg, even though he had to fight thru the mass of kittens who are much bigger and stronger than he. When Meg was by herself, I'd put the little guy with her and she purred away while he nursed. The kittens are another story! They think I brought them a toy! They try to play with him and roll all over him, but when it's time to settle down for a nap, they all curl around him. I think this is gonna work OK. Now isn't that Meg a special girl??? Mary

	Boy, I do know how ya feel! I have (on a temporary basis, of course) 3 of my friend's show babies - 18 kids is REALLY a bit much. Between my little Victoria, who thinks night time is the time for full scale play time, and my friend's little ones, my eye lids are sagging! Now I know why breeders like to have their kits GONE by 4 months! Good Job, Mary!!! Sorry I couldn't help out. E.T.
