1747.0. "Water, water, everywhere!" by SALEM::DEFRANCO () Thu Sep 08 1988 10:01

I have always had a problem with my cats water dishes. It seemed
as though there was always food floating in it or paws playing in
it. Well, after about a year of this I said "there has got to be
    a better way"!

I went to the grain store and bought one of those water bottles
that are generally used in rabit hutches. It holds 20 oz of water
and hangs off the wall at a good hight for the cats to reach and
drink from. What a find this was for me. It only took a few days
for Cali to figure it out and now she loves it. She never drinks
water out of a bowl any more. She in turn taught Sam how to use
it (he finally learned this week!) and he thinks its great.

I think they actaully drink more water this way because its like
a toy for them to play with. I fill the bottle up twice a week
so they are consuming about 30 oz a week between the two of them.

So, no more dirty water dishes, and no more water all over the floor
or counter top. Has any one else used this method before? I think
    its wonderfull!

    No I haven't tried it either but I think I will...even if they don't
use it water bottles are cheap enough.

    Thanks for the tip.
