1706.0. "Good Good News at Nashua Humane" by TPVAX3::ROBBINS () Mon Aug 29 1988 09:37

Well seeing we normally start the day off with bad news we'll
put some good news in. My in-law's adopted Tippy Toes from Nashua
Humane Saturday. We all went down and were talking to the staff.
A couple came in to look at the dogs and guess what?

They had NO dogs there except for a litter that's not ready
to go as of yet. AND they adopted out 21 cats in 7 days!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable!!! They were ecstatic!!!! And so were we!!!!!

But they still have some beautiful cats and kittens left???!!!!!!

                                 Hint hint...............

                                                             Kim

p.s. They even gave my in-laws a free pet carrier and 16 cans of
R/D Science Diet that had been donated for no cost whatsoever.....
Tippy Toe is 30 lbs overweight and was the only one there with that
type of problem...... And we start volunteering in the coming
month.... I think things have turned around :^)

                                         Happy Monday!!!!

That's great! It's so nice to hear positive feedback about the
shelter world -- I sure hope this trend continues! Think maybe
we're rubbing off on people ;-) ? One can always hope!

    Happy Monday,

No you've got it right!!!! 30 lbs overweight!!!!! Tippy Toe is
a big big obese girl. What happened I guess is that her owner that
had her for the 7 years spoiled her. The owner has passed away
and the front display window at Nashua Humane is dedicated to her.
Tippy Toe was adopted by someone whom I guess found out they were
allergic to her. So before they brought her back to the shelter
they had her down in the basement for 2 weeks!!! So Tippy Toe had
been at the shelter for about a month and they really didn't think
she would be adopted because of how FAT she is. She's a beautiful
Calico with alot of black for background and has the most beautiful
face with large round copper eyes. I do not know what her total
weight is at the moment but the vet who looked at her said 30 lbs
over her weight and on the R/D she goes. I'm sure my in-laws will
by hook or crook and with lots of love get her down to her suitable
    weight.....

I was in awe I NEVER saw a cat that fat......

                                                                Kim
