1705.0. "Herschel is missing!" by HILLST::MASON (Explaining is not understanding) Sun Aug 28 1988 15:39

Herschel is a new neighbor's cat. He strayed away from his new home
in Milford, NH Friday night (8/26). Herschel is about five years old,
an orange longhair, and could be mistaken for an angora (says the
owner - I have never seen him). The poor guy has double paws and
cateracts, and hence only peripheral vision. He is very cautious when
walking, unless frightened. He was missed about 45 minutes after he
went out, and a search of the woods behind the house was made
immediately. We are in a pretty isolated neighborhood, so people are
few. There is still construction going on, and I have checked the
vacant houses and new foundations. They passed out flyers, and I told
them about checking the old homestead (Hollis, NH), calling vets, etc.

If you see or hear of Herschel, please call John or Carol at
603/672-5929. You can also call me at DTN 297-7529

    Thanks...Gary

Herschel wandered home this morning - wet, but undaunted! They
say he apparently didn't spend the night out in that mess, because
though wet, he was nearly presentable.

The owners pass on their heartfelt thanks for your offers of
    assistance.
