| You do have a Siamese!!! There are many colors to the siamese breed,
and one of those colors is the Blue Lynx Point. There is also a
Seal Lynx Point, as well as a Red Lynx Point and probably a few
other colors in the "Tiger" pattern.
These Lynx Point colors are also seen in Himalayans. Although Lynx
Points are a color within the breed, they are more unusual than
the normal solid colors such as seal or blue.

ps. maybe I should add that the Red Lynx Points, along with the
other Red Point colors are considered Colorpoint Shorthairs rather
than Siamese in some associations.
How did I do Brian??

1699.2 | another lynx-point something! | FORTSC::WILDE | Time and Tide wait for Norman | Wed Aug 31 1988 21:10 | 16 |
| Well, Hannah is a "red" lynx point - and she has a normal cat body type,
blue eyes - so t siamese doesn't show. Her points are all orange
tabby cat markings, her body is the color of cream, and her tail is
red ring-tailed. I adore the cat, but that's because she is so
clever and full of personality.....oh, she doesn't have a siamese cry
either. Hannah came to me after being rescued, so I have no idea if
she was an intended breeding or a lucky accident, but she is the most
striking cat any of my friends have met and extremely clever.
I suspect she is a "throwback" from a color point shorthaired breeding
and was considered a "scrub" of the litter because her body type is
the traditional american short-haired (compact and a little stocky).
She certainly didn't have anyone taking care of her when she was rescued.
Count me in the "lynx point lovers" club....love the blue eyes!

I would love to see Hannah, she sounds beautiful! and I thougt mine
was Lovely, I just cant pitcher Hannah, she must be breath-taking.
I wish I could breed "chamie" but she was born in the woods and
a bob-cat took ovet the litter, and "chamie" was the only survior.
and some folks who lived near the woods found this out and called
the humane socity and they took "chamie" away..and I feel in love
with her and the Humane Socity would not let me have her since she
was so "WILD"
But after weeks of visiting they agreed to let me have her!
and to make a long stroy short, I cant breed her because when she
was in the wild the bob-cat must of hurt her, becaues the had pulled
musscles and lumps inside and the vet had to opperate and he also
had her fixed, for that just incase, cause if she got pregnent then
she would die!
but she is doing fine and is very friendly (BUT ONLY TO ME) any
one elese she HISSES and GROWELS,,,but I love her
P.S. I really would love to see hannah and I would love a pither
if you have one and it is not to much touble, of corse i
understand if you wihs not to. but if you do you can send it
to Louisa pierce LMO4/H4
Thnks

| Ah yes, growling and hissing when not happy with people trying to touch
or pet.....Hannah is VERY opinionated about such stuff as well. I think
it comes from being ferel for a few months of her young life....
Pictures will be sent as soon as they are developed....a proud mom does
not have to be asked twice!
Get your camera out too!

1699.6 | REAL SIAMESE?!?! | SALEM::FORTIN | | Fri Dec 16 1988 16:31 | 19 |
| re: .1
Are you telling me that I paid $30 for a Siamese? My husband and
I love Siamese cats and looked at some but they were too expensive.
When he saw Lyn at the pet store, he had to have her. He could
not believe that she was only $30. She has the dark tail and ears
and the tip of her nose is dark. Her body color is a dusty white
and the very tips of her toes are dark. And, of course, her eyes
are blue. Is she really a full blooded Siamese or is she a cross.
She DOESN'T have the temper of a Siamese tho. She is very much
the lap cat type and she doesn't have a mean streak in her. I am
really curious. The pet store told us she was a Siamese Cross but
tagged her as "Lynx Point". BTW, that is where we got her name
"Lyn"x.

| If anyone is looking for Siamese cats I know a woman who owns two
beautiful lilac point siamese cats, one is registered. The last
time I talked to her she was charging $75 for a kitten. The kittens
are all exact replicas of their parents.
And you're right Jo, the siameses did get a bum rap! I can't
believe the number of people who think siamese cats are nasty!
(but it was a funny scene)
