1639.0. "Directions to the Manchester Show" by TOXMAN::MECLER (FRANK) Tue Aug 09 1988 23:45

Here are the directions to the Seacoast Cat Club Cat Show at the
Manchester Coliseum August 20 and 21.

From the South and West- Take 495 to Route 3 North, which become
FE Everett Turnpike, to Routes 293 and 101 East (you will cross
the river). Take Exit 1 left *onto Willow Street, go approximately
1.5 miles to Maple and turn right (I believe it is more of a bear
right. These directions were supplied by the club), Coliseum is
    approximately 1 mile.

From the South and East - take Route 93 North to Route 293, take
Exit 1 right onto Willow and procede as above *.

From the North - take Route 93 South to Route 293, take Exit 1 left
onto Willow Street and procede as above *.

The show has its full complement of entries. A total of 225 cats
and kittens have been entered. We had to turn away some entries.
We've had vendors vying for space so all kinds of kittie goodies
    will be available.

I don't know what admission will cost. I'll post it as a reply
to this note when I find out.

Seacoast is a good club to be in. The members work hard and work
together. It is a good group for new breeders or cat people in
    general.

1639.1clarification of directionsBRAT::GERMANNThu Aug 11 1988 10:5822
Two items to note about these directions.

First, coming from the north on 93 to 293, it is a right on to
South Willow St, not a left.

Also, you should know that South Willow Street is the "Miracle
Mile" of Manchester....lots of stores, food places, shopping
plazas - in general, a pain in the brain. I have tried to think
of other directions to get there, but these are the simplest.
There are other ways, but all have more turns, etc.

The turn off South Willow onto Maple is a "bear right" type of turn.
Just BEFORE the turn, on the right, is a place called Ski Togs.
If you get to McDonalds, you have gone too far.

Also, the Colliseum is up Maple about a mile (I'm not really good
with distances). It will be just after the second traffic light
    on Maple, on your left.

Hope this is a little helpful.

    Re: .1

I'm not going to start an arguement over the directions. If you
are coming from the North you will be headed south on Route 293.
When you leave 293 and turn onto Willow you will have to go OVER
    293. Take whatever turn you likeas long as it takes you over 293.

1639.3you are right - mea culpaBRAT::GERMANNFri Aug 12 1988 11:1310
Ah, I see my confusion. I guess it comes from living there and
not considering 293 that goes along the river as 293,but as the
Everett. You are right. If one picks up 293 just after the toll
both, then it will be a left turn off the highway. If one picks
up 293 south of the city below Hanover Street, it will be a right
    turn.

Sorry - didn't mean to confuse anyone.....habits are hard to break....

Folks, if you pass the Mall of New Hampshire you are going the
wrong way on South Willow Street so turn around. You can see
the mall from the ramps so just make sure you don't turn that
    	way. Easy??
