1600.0. "Introducing...." by POET::BURLEW (Purr is my favorite sound!) Fri Jul 29 1988 13:17

Catanality's Lady Patches and her brother Catanality's Lord Jason
Ebony. They came to live with us last night.

Patches is a tortie-point Himalayan and Jason is a black Persian.
Their mom, Black Orchid, is a black Persian, and their dad, Son O' A
Witch, is a flame-point Himalayan. The kittens are from Frank Mecler's
    cattery, and are gorgeous!

Sherlock has been following Patches everywhere she goes, and she goes
everywhere. She's very curious and adventuresome. She likes to
explore, but also likes to be held and petted. And, boy, can she purr!

Jason is very shy and has been hiding in corners or under the
television. But he loves to be held. No purr yet, but we think he
just misses his mom and little brother.

We put them in the upstairs bathroom this morning before leaving for
work with a litter box, food, water, and plenty of toys. When we
closed the door, Patches began meowing (sounds more like a bird than a
cat though), and Sherlock ran upstairs and stuck his nose under the
door as if to say "Don't cry, I'm right here." When we left, Sherlock
still had his nose stuck under the door.

I'll be on vacation next two weeks, so will have plenty of time to enjoy
watching Patches and Jason learn about their new home and their Uncle
Sherlock. I'm sure I'll have some wonderful stories when I get back.

Ande, Sherlock, Serena, Patches, and Jason

In the Himmie the coat color is expressed in the points - paws,
tail, ears, mask. A Tortie point has the tortoiseshell pattern
    - black and red or black and cream in the points. A Flame point
is red in the points. In Himmies red becomes Flame. While Sonny
has deep flame points, patches tends to be seal and cream now.
The cream may deepen to red as she matures.

We will have a bluepoint and a tortoiseshell colorpoint carrier
at the Seacoast Show in MAnchester, N.H.
