1589.0. "SAVE A KITTEN & EARN $10 !!" by OFFPLS::PRESTIDGE () Wed Jul 27 1988 12:36

    Hi. Awhile back, I added a note here advertising free barn
    cats. I had just moved into a new home where the previous
    owners left my husband and I with about 12 barn cats. Since
    then, (May), We have gotten all the cats spayed/neutered with
    rabies shots except for 3, which were too pregnant at the time
    to be spayed. Now, after spending hundreds of dollars on these
    cats, I must find homes for the litters. The moms are very friendly
    and are affectionate to humans, I would no longer call them "barn"
    cats in the common sense of the word.

    I have one litter ready to go now - I live in Weare, NH. Here is
    my ad:

    * 3 Beautiful, Blue-Eyed, Grey Mynx Kittens, 7.5 weeks old

         - Charcoal-Grey Female, Mynx (no tail)
         - Charcoal-Grey Female, with tail
         - Smokey-Grey Mail, Mynx (no tail)

    * I am willing to deliver to New Parent(s)!

    *  I will contribute $10 toward spaying/neutering for whichever
       kitten(s) you choose.

    * If I didn't already have so many cats to care for, I would keep
       these babies, as they are truly adorable!

    * Father has no tail, hence the Mynx breeding...

    * Please help save these innocent babies from an Uncertain Future
       at the Local Humane Society!!!

    * To SAVE A BABY, Call Sue Prestidge, DTN 264-8468, or 603/529-3683.

    You definitely deserve a Hero of the Month award.

1589.3BIG HEART, BIG EFFORT!TOLMNE::PIGOTT_SAWed Jul 27 1988 20:589
    Your efforts are gargantuan!! I raised and had "fixed" two strays
    and it was EXPENSIVE!! I live in an apartment complex in Sunnyvale
    where pets are not allowed and I ended up having to give away the
    kittens. My husband moaned and carried on about the amount of time,
    effort, and money I invested in them but I persisted. My hats are
    off to you in your Paul Bunyan effort to take care of your brood!
    Best of luck!

1589.7MY SINCERE THANKS!OFFPLS::PRESTIDGEFri Jul 29 1988 11:2830
    My sincere thanks to all you Feliners out there who have distributed
    this ad to others or told them of my situation! As for deserving
    praise, I'm one of the odd people that would feel like pond scum
    if I didn't do as much as I could for the welfare of these animals
    - like I was neglecting to be 'fully human'. To me, animals are
    just like people with fur, and I swear they can talk but just won't
    do it around us!

    To get to the point, because of the support, asistance, and
    communication this notesfile and you feliners have provided, nearly
    all the kittens, including a litter that hasn't been advertised yet
    but is ready to go in a couple of weeks, have had some interested
    people arrange to come see them! With all your help, I think all
    of these babies will find excellent homes, and so it is all of YOU,
    not Me, that deserve the praise.

    It is amazing what a group of people, when joined together by a
    common thread for a good cause can acheive ....

                          MANY THANKS TO YOU  !!

    PS: I am interested in attending the Nashua Human Society open
    house to see what the &^&$&*! is going on there! If any of you
    would like to make this a group effort, please don't hesitate to
    contact me - more public awareness of the welfare of animals in
    our society can only work to help the situation...perhaps the
    Nashua Telegraph would accept a "Letter to the Editor" or something
    depending on what we find at the Open House...
1589.8ONE MORE TO GO....OFFPLS::PRESTIDGEMon Aug 01 1988 10:1015
    Hi - I'm not normally one to reply to my own note, but I still have
    one kitten left to find a home for - She is mostly white, with a
    few black spots around her head, and her tail (yes, she has one!)
    is completely black from base to tip! Very Cute. Ready in a couple
    of weeks, and the original offer still stands (i.e., $10 toward
    spaying, will deliver, etc.)..

    I think her eyes will be green when she matures...

    Spread the word if you can!

    Thanks,

    Sue Prestidge
