| Chances are he is trecking back to you. I know too many cats who
have done this. I once had a cat that travelled 32 miles back home.
He made it in one piece, alittle hungry.
Good luck - keep a good watch out for him.

| I agree. I will bet that he is on his way home to you. This happened
to us before. We had 2 males and they kept fighting so we had to
find a home...a good home, believe me...and Bambi found his way
all the back to us, about 12 miles. This way about 11 - 12 years
ago.
Keep a look out!

Well I was hoping that when I up-dated this note that it would be
good news..... Nothing yet. We went down looking last week and
did find a man that had seen Pretty Boy (thank God I took pictures!)
coming to chow out from the bowl he fills in the back for the coons.
He told us if he saw him again he would see if he could get him
in the house and call us. I left with a good feeling =no phone
call. Three days later went for another scout. Talked to alot
of people most hadn't seen him. One lady said that he had been
at her door on Friday night and he was trying to come into her house.
She was gone for the whole week-end (this was Sunday evening) so
she didn't know if he had been around but she had left food out.
Took down our number and also told us that for some reason all the
cats in the neighborhood seemed to frequent her yard. That made
me feel really good and I thought for sure we had hit the nail on
the head. Well no phone call yet. He is not acting the way he
did with us at all. When he came to us he immediately claimed us.
Even though I wouldn't let him in the house he lived in the yard
and the deck 24 hrs around the clock. Now everytime we find some
place where he has been he doesn't seem to hang around. It makes
me feel even worse that possibly I could have killed any trust he
has for any human. I'm still determined I will find him. Today
I took out an ad in the Nashua Telegraph for a week. I've already
called Hudson Pound, Nashua Humane, Countryside Vets, Hudson Animal
Hospital, and the Litchfield Animal Controller. George at Litchfield
was really sweet but he also let me know that in the area between
Hudson and Litchfield there are wild dogs. Yup Pretty Boy is VERY
close to this area. I guess that's what makes it worse. So that's
the scoop for now. All that's left is to keep going down there
maybe make some flyers to put in people's mailbox (I wonder if I
can legally do that?) and post something at area stores. Well that
was good therapy for me........
Thanks for asking..........

| Re: flyers in mailboxes
The post office goes into a snit when anything besides U.S. mail
is put in a mail box. If a letter carrier is feeling nasty, he
can discard it. You can, however, leave flyers held down by floor
mats, inside handles of door latches, wedged in between the door
and the door framew, etc. also if the "mailbox" is not actually
a mailbox but rather a slot so stuff just falls inside the house,
you can put a flyer thru that.

I would think the reason he hasn't latched on to anyone else is
because he knows he belongs to you and doesn't want to be with anyone
else. Rather than having lost his trust in humans, he has all his trust
in you. If I were you, I'd be very flattered. :-)
Good luck!

No news at all.... sigh.... I don't understand how he could just
disappear like this. We'll go back over there this week-end with
little papers I made up and stick them in everyone's door or talk
to them if I can. The ad is still in the paper (2 weeks now at
$21 a whack!!!) and NO phone calls. I don't know but I better find
him soon because I don't think I can take this wondering where he
is, how he is, if he's alive or not, how he's making out on these
hot humid days.... I have to find him for my own peace of my mind
and I will sooner or later. It's just starting to get discouraging
and looks hopeless.... Ah well who knows maybe this week-end :^)
Thanks for asking....
