| :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
The one time my mother inflicted a permanent on me, a zillion years
ago, it smelled truly awful. Are they still the same? There must
be a cat attractant in there somewhere. Or a Nicky-attractant,
anyway.

I have the same thing happen when I get my hair colored! Rosie
will wait until I'm taking a bath, and sit on the hamper behind
the tub. She starts out by burying her nose down to my scalp
and inhaling, then she grabs a mouthful of hair and tugs away...
It must be the way it smells, because she's always trying to
lick scented moisturizer off my legs or my face, etc...That
must be how they do those cat-food commercials - `here, put
some scented moisturizer on your face so the cat will lick it'.

| Have never had a permanent, but I know that Loki l-o-v-e-s
my shampoo. After I've washed my hair, he'll sit there and lick
my hair and, sometimes, get so worked up that he bites (ouch!).
He also loves my deodorant and, like Bigfoot, will get "drunk" on
it too.

1488.4 | Perm attraction | NSG022::POIRIER | When it's hot it's hot! | Mon Jun 27 1988 09:47 | 9 |
| Both my kitties react the same way to my perms. Once I woke up and
Mandy was licking my hair - ich. Koko just nuzzles it. There is
something in there that definitely attracts cats( we'd all be rich if
we could find the same formula for men! :-)).
It only lasts for about a week and then the smell wears off.

1488.5 | Another hair story | BRAT::GERMANN | | Mon Jun 27 1988 10:31 | 10 |
| Last night Margaret was telling me about Bob's newest activity
at bedtime. Seems he waits until she is in bed with her head on
the pillow. Then he starts pulling her hair out from beneath her
head (she has VERY long hair). When he has as much as he can, pulling
with both paws and mouth, he will lie down on it, purr away, and
fall asleep. Since teenagers put all sorts of wonderful things
on their hair, I would guess it is an attraction to some one of
those things. We laughed for a long time over this one.....

| Lightning doesn't attack perms. She just attacks people wearing
Vicks or BenGay. She must love the camphor in it.
Crazy cat. But she has never had a cold.

1488.7 | Tristan's really embarassing! | STAR::BARTH | | Fri Jul 01 1988 13:36 | 6 |
| Tristan likes overly-ripe armpits. We have a friend or two who
don't seem to shower every day. When they come over Tristan stuffs
his head right into their pits, pushing with all his might. Now
that's embarassing!!!!

Karen...
Is that embarassing for the cat or for your friend that doesn't
shower every day???? :^>

1488.9 | Embarassed? Me? | STAR::BARTH | | Tue Jul 05 1988 13:18 | 10 |
| Katie,
It's definately embarrassing for everyone except Tristan. Tristan
doesn't know the meaning of the word! ;-)
He seems especially to like the pits of wool sweaters, whether you've
showered or not (I'd forgotten about the sweaters since it's so
warm this time of year).
