| DCU now has available checks with cats and dogs....unfortunately,
it is a set of three, with two dog checks to 1 cat check.

| That's interesting...I know of an individual who picked out the
Current seashell checks and is using them with the DCU...no hassles
that I've heard of...maybe if you don't tell anyone and just do
it!!!

| The problem with DCU is that you don't get return checks (unless
of course you pay for it). Using the duplicate checks it's easier
to have the receipt that you really wrote the check. That's why
I wish Current would make theirs available both in duplicate AND
non-dupe.
I also saw the pet ones that DCU offered. You know, if they had
had 2 pics of dogs AND 2 pics of cats, i might have ordered them.
BUT... I'm prejudiced -- I'd rather have more cats than dogs, or
just cats!

| What is a "duplicate check"?

I have been using Current check for about a year now. I have no
problems with them, and the DCU doesn't mind either. If I need a
duplicate of a check, I just call and they make me a copy. No problems
and I get alot of compliments on them too. I haven't even had one
bounce yet either?

1319.6 | Where did that check go?? | CLUSTA::TAMIR | ACMS design while-u-wait | Mon May 02 1988 15:11 | 11 |
| A 'duplicate check' comes in two parts, the actual check copy and
a carbonless (aka NCR paper) paper copy. When you write out a check,
the duplicate copy stays in your checkbook, and the check part goes
to the payee. DCU uses these duplicate checks because they do not
return the cancelled check to the account holder (to keep down costs).
There isn't any problem with using some other brand of check, or
checks that aren't duplicates, providing you (unlike me!) are very
good about writing down where and when and how much that last check
was for!

| I saw an article in the "Catmopolitan" that advertised checks that
they can print your own kitty picture on your checks. A few banks
offer this...I think. If anyone is interested I can bring the article
in and type it word for word.

| I've seen "Catmopolitan" in bookstores all over the place (southern NH
and Boston area). (By the way, there are *two* bookstores in the
Pheasant Lane Mall.) I've also seen it in various catalogs.
Just to clarify the DCU-and-duplicate-check business: duplicate checks
are *optional* at the DCU. If you order checks through them, you get
your choice of duplicate or "regular" checks. It's up to you.
I never knew you could order checks from other places. I always
thought you had to go with the selection the bank offered. Learn
something new every day....
