1255.0. "HELP!! embarassing problem" by SUBURB::TAYLORS (MINNIE) Fri Apr 08 1988 12:42

One of my boys (Dillan) has a very embarassing problem - he drops
"pellets" all over the house (rather like rabbit droppings).

This started when he was about nine months old and the vet put it
down to him being too hasty when he visited the cat tray and not
"finishing" properly but he would grow out of it - well he hasn't!

He can be walking along or laying on the furniture (makes no
difference) just minding his own business and it just happens,
he seems to have no control over it. At first he didn't even realise
he was doing it but now he runs into another room when it happens
almost as though he is embarrassed about it (I know I am when it
happens in front of my visitors).

Has anyone else had this problem? does anyone else know why it is
    happening?

I think you should consult the vet again. That does not sound normal.
Poor kitty - I know my cat gets embarassed when some gets caught
on her fur, she runs around like a crazy cat!

Does not sound right to me - I have had many cats and have never
    seen that. Good Luck.

Chauncey did this when he was a kitten, but he did grow out of it.
It was just a tad embarrassing...

I also think you should consult the vet again....poor kitty (and
    Mommy!).

I went to the vets and he said he is one on these cats whose bowel
muscles are weak and although he thisks he has finnished properly
he hasnt and his muscles are not strong enough to hold that last
    little bit back!!

Guess I'll just have to get used to the embarassment.
