| I never realized there was such a thing as "Tortoise Shell Siamese"!
I've never seen a siamese like that at any of the cat shows.

| re: .2 Tortoise shell siamese
There are actually two different kinds:
One kind with the tortie pattern just in the points. This is
usually called a tortie-point, and is a colorpoint shorthair.
Another kind with the tortie pattern across the whole body.
This is a tortie oriental shorthair.
They're both striking cats!

| Was I ever surprised to read these notes!! I was so dumb about
one of my cats!!! I got an abandoned cat, Daisy, from a vet once and
he called her a Tortie Siamese. Then when I moved and changed vets
the next one also called her a Tortie Siamese. I never asked about it,
I thought they were calling her some type of Siamese cross. But
she has the most beautiful blue eyes, and when I take her into the
vets or someone comes to visit at my home, she is always singled
out by a comment on how beautiful she is. Maybe I have a Tortie
Siamese afterall - just like the two vets said -only I was too
ignorant to realize what they were telling me. Thanks for the
info.

| I know this has been discussed elsewhere but regardless of what certain
organizations call them (read Colorpoint Shorthairs), Tortie Point Siamese
breed true and therefore are true Siamese: not crosses and not hybrids.
Politics and traditions do nothing but add confusion to this color class.
