1215.0. "Home needed for Jenny" by CHEFS::TUDORK () Mon Mar 28 1988 04:51

We need a loving home for a 5 year old British Blue (no papers)
    called Jenny.

Jenny's owners were going to have her put down this weekend since
they had acquired a new kitten. The kitten torments Jenny and waits
for her outside the cat flap - this got to the point where Jenny
would no longer use the flap and since her owners have young children
they would not put a dirt tray down for her. The subsequent messes
in the house decided them to have her put down.

We took Jenny hoping to settle her in our home, this might work
but for the fact that Jenny will not accept any other cats in "her"
    house.

She is a gorgeous cat, very very affectionate to humans, but she
needs to be settled in a home with no other cats. To take her back
to her original owners will probably mean that she will have to
    be put down.

Jenny is at present in the Reading area, I would like to home her
somewhere in the area, but would take a reasonable view of a good
    home offered anywhere else.

She would probably make a good indoor cat since I am told that her
previous trips outside were limited to using the garden. She needs
someone to appreciate all the love and company she can give.

If you can help, I am at Millennium House, telephone 7830-4308.

sorry, but this note kind of upset me. They were going to put her
down just because the kitten was tormenting her and she wouldn't
go outside? I can't believe it! God bless you for trying to find
a home for her. I would take her, but I already have 2 cats. I
will keep an ear out for someone looking for a cat and tell them
about Jenny. She sounds like a wonderful cat.

Thanks for your support Holly, I have also had a call from Judy
Harwell at Acre Road who has offered help.

I got the impression you're in the States, I'm in Reading UK, but
I appreciate any help I can get from fellow conferencers. I feel
quite hopeful that between us we can find her a home.

    Many thanks

Yeah, and when they get sick of their new kitten, they will get
a new one and get rid of the old?????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people make me mad - I am not flaming the originator of this
note, just getting it off my chest.

Thank god there are people around like you - good luck finding a
home. I already have two, and had the same problem when we acquired
a new kitten, but love and attention came thru.

Get rid of the old and make way for the new???

What a horrible way to treat an animal!!!!!

I already have two of my own and almost added a third, but would
never give up my `first child' (or second) for a new one.

Good luck in finding a home for the poor darling. There are so
many people over there looking for babies that I don't think you
will have too much of a problem.

    Keep us informed.

    SAD NEWS..AND GOOD NEWS..

Lawson Simpson over at Dec Park 2 lost his cat Boots on Monday.
Boots was at an advanced age and was very ill and Lawson did the
kindest thing for her by ending her suffering.

He has very generously offered Jenny a home where I know she will
be loved and appreciated as she should be.

Thanks to everyone for their messages of support and offers of help.

Just thought you would like to know we went to see Jennie last night
to see how she was settling in.

We were met by a happy, confident cat who obviously adores her new
owners, but who was kind enough also to make a fuss of us. She
has put on weight and condition and is obviously very happy.

    So a happy ending.
