I was just thinking..I've recently been keeping my boyfriend's dog for him. I've got a cat that has been indoor all her life with the exception of going out to the patio. She's never been exposed to any other animals. Rocky (the canine) is very healthy and is current on shots and Corkie (my feline) is also. Should I be watching for anything that she might get exposed to? I know doggies get worms from being outside..if he happened to contract them are they contageous? Are there anythings that doggies carry that kitties can get? Thanks for any info. Pat

I have two cats that are both indoor only and I also have a Springer Spaniel that of course goes out..... The only thing I'm aware of the dog (Reggie) giving my kitties is fleas! I did ask the vet if the cats could catch anything from the dog and she said no. I also grew up with cats that were indoor only and many dogs.... can't remember the cats getting anything from the dogs. If animals are up to date with all their shots, you shouldn't have to worry about kitty catching anything from the dog....maybe fleas if they cuddle up together or share sleeping quarters. Erin |
