950.0. "Injured Cat Needs Help" by SQM::MURPHY (Is it Friday yet?) Tue Dec 08 1987 14:19

If anyone in the Pelham, NH area has a missing female tortoise shell
cat, one was turned in to the Pelham Pound the middle of last week.
It had been hit or run over by a car when turned in.

If you own this cat or decide to "claim" it as yours, you'd have
to say you last saw it last Tuesday or early AM Wednesday. Also,
if you opt to go get her, Kim Robbins and I will help with any medical
expenses necessary for the cat. The cat's time will be up tomorrow
if the new animal control officer goes by the rules of 7 days.

Kim also wanted me to stress the fact that the pound is not doing
anything "wrong" but that our knowing about the cat makes it seem
like something should be done for the poor creature.

Pounds are not required to take in cats or kittens but they could
be more humane when an animal is sick or injured (my opinion).

At this time Marilyn has called and expressed her desire to adopt
the cat from the pound so she can bring it immediately for medical
attention. She also gave her a name of someone who may be the owner.
The animal control officer will be calling back hopefully if it
wasn't the owner to let her come down and adopt the cat out. This
cat will be posted for adoption after it has been mended and back
    to normal.

KITTY IS OUT!!!! Marilyn currently has her at the house. She could
not get an appointment till tomorrow so that's when she will be
checked over. She looks good doesn't seem to be having any major
problems. When she was picked up she was in shock and was bleeding
from the nose. I don't know what that would signify so I guess
we'll wait. She obviously was owned by someone as she has an orange
studded collar around her neck. She has dark eyes and looks roughly
to be about a year old. Her colors are deep black, chocolate brown,
orange, gray, and white on the belly. She has an orange patch right
near her right eye. God she sounds gorgeous but then again aren't
they all in their special way. Well I will post her once she has
been given her certificate of health and at this time I don't think
we need anymore support on the financial part. I will get to you
off line if it should prove to be more expensive then anticipated.

                                  Thanks for the concern everyone....
