885.0. "LOST CAT" by VAXWRK::LESHIN () Tue Nov 10 1987 11:02

    Peanut is missing. He is a 3 year old who looks a lot like Morris
    (9-Lives), except for his nose which has been in a couple of battles.
    Our whole family is really upset about it and I was wondering if
    anybody might have some suggestions around information regarding
    his whereabouts.

    The last day we saw him was on Nov. 1 around Manning St. in Hudson.
    He has taken off before, but never for this long.

    I have posted signs in store windows and am in touch with the dog
    officer. We're still optimistic that he'll return (probably because
    we miss him and really want him to be ok).

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Sandi

    Hi Sandy,
              Real sorry to hear about your Peanuts. I wanted to ask
    you are we talking N.H. or Mass.? If we are talking N.H. I will
    also talk to the animal control officer in Pelham as she has lots
    of connections too. Could be someone took him into their house
    but sooner or later they'll probably let him out to do his thing
    and you'll find him at your door. I'll do some checking too if
    it's in N.H. I'll take a little trip around that area for the
    heck of it in case he's wandering around..... Good luck in the
    meantime it would be nice if someone in this file would know
    something for you........

    Thanks so much Kim - unfortunately it is Hudson, MA. I say
    unfortunately because it would have been great to have your help.

885.3Maybe I can help...I live 1/2 mile away!SACMAN::GOLDENTue Nov 10 1987 12:1621
    Sandy,

    I live on Warner St. (about 1/2 mile from Manning St.).
    Several weeks ago, my cat was involved in a 'scuffle' with a big
    yellow tiger cat. Once in a while, I see him wandering through
    my yard, but not recently. My cat (Katie) is a spayed female and
    this yellow tiger cat seems to be her sparring partner.

    I'm not implying that this yellow cat I mentioned is yours, but
    he DOES look something like Morris.

    If/when I see this yellow cat in my yard, I'll try to get a closer
    look at his nose!

    I feel badly that your cat is lost....I'd be sick, too if Katie
    dissapeared.

    Do you want to give me your home phone # just in case?

    Good luck!
    			Patty
885.4sometimes they're accidentally shutinCIRCUS::KOLLINGKaren, Sweetie, Holly; in Calif.Tue Nov 10 1987 13:106
    It seems that often when a cat is missing it has been accidentally
    shut in a neighbor's garage or basement, storage shed, and so on.
     Going door to door leaving a Xeroxed description of your cat and
    a request that people check such places (plus your phone number
    of course) often pays off. You can Xerox a photo also.

885.5Keep the FaithNAVAJO::VARNOLDTue Nov 10 1987 17:3521
    I can't offer any help but maybe some hope.

    My cat, Omar, disappeared on Halloween afternoon. I was worried
    because he is a large solid black cat with big green eyes and I
    was afraid that some sick person had found him and did something
    horrible.

    I went to the animal shelter every day and reported him to the animal
    humane association and all of the veternary clinics in our area,
    but no one had seen him.

    Well, last night he came home. He appears to be just fine. Someone
    shampooed and combed him, but I guess they couldn't get him to eat.
    He's lost six of his 12 pounds.

    He spent last night telling us all about it. I just wish I could
    understand him!!! What a story he must have. . .

    Anyway, don't give up.
