Actually, it's quite a common syndrome among humans as well. Many people,
as they are drifting off to sleep, experience the feeling of falling down
and will move their legs to brace the "fall". It's not surprising that
other mammals do this as well.

| I've seen Argus do this too (and he purrs right thru it), but the vet
said that it was nothing to worry about.

870.4 | Honey, you're snoring! | CLUSTA::TAMIR | | Wed Nov 04 1987 14:43 | 12 |
| Funny you should mention this...last night, Honey woke me from a
sound sleep by making some kind of strange noises. I looked over
at him and his legs were straight out, and then he started moving
his paws like he was running. He then started to make some more
noise, followed by the leg bit, then more running. When I turned
on the light, I could see that his mouth was moving, as if he was
hunting prey. Strange...I don't know what he was dreaming about,
but he sure was into it!
It's usually his snoring that wakes me up!

870.6 | Shivering from cold? | DELNI::HYLAND | | Wed Nov 04 1987 17:23 | 5 |
| My cat does this, too ... almost like she's shivering from cold.
I've thought it was pretty weird, but have to admit I've never asked
the vet about it. Will do so tomorrow night since we have a check-up
then and will post any interesting info.
