Temper, temper. Let's keep a sense of humor here.
It just goes to show you what I know about cats. In any
event, if anyone knows anything about a SABLE BROWN Burmese
(or whatever color they are), I'd be much obliged.
These folks are desperate.
I promise I won't gas it. (Just kidding!!!! :^) )

Goodness!!!! I might get flames for this but I didn't find
anything offensive about the originator's remarks. And as far as
him saying the wrong color big deal it's still a Burmese. I could
care less if he is a cat-hater. Hat's off to him for being a cat-
hater but still willing to try and give a cat a home with his friends.
I'm sure the cat wouldn't mind the fact. (Sorry I feel bad for
people when they get jumped on like that when they are doing a good
deed!!!)

P.S.- Although I didn't really care for the comment about gassing
if the other note wouldn't have been written it wouldn't have provoked
him...... The noter has made sure we know he's kidding.....

| Oops forgot to mention something..... To reply .2 from now
on when you make a comment I would appreciate it if you wouldn't
represent all of the conference. I, for one, do not want to be
included in your statement as I find it in POOR TASTE!!! I also
find it in POOR TASTE that you shouted through your whole note.
At least the "cat hater" knew how to use the conference politely!!
By the way Leo I'll snoop around and see if I can find a black,
oops pardon me!!!, I mean sable brown Burmese.....

Apologies to all other noters and to Leo (I know this
isn't helping you find your cat!!!!) but that reply came in before
I could edit my reply..... Why is that everyone jumps to this is
a democracy to excuse whatever they wrote.... Doesn't democracy
go for Leo as well?? And if you want to hide behind that excuse
I guess your title should have been...

That's it I'm off my soapbox unless further provoked....
P.S.- Leo does it have to be pure? I once had a cat that was a
mix of Siamese and Burmese (God knows what else) that was pure
BLACK.... But she looked just like a Burmese..... Let me know
before I make any calls.....

But just one more word?
I got a very nice off-line response from someone that I'm
sure will lead to my friends getting their cat. All the
flaming notwithstanding, the original entry was a success.
My apologies to Ms. or Mr. Durusso if I offended you. And
my thanks to Kim for her support.
If I work up enough courage, I'll stick a note in here sometime
asking all you cat lovers to make the ultimate attempt to
convert an inverterate cat hater into at least a cat tolerator
so my 8 year old will someday realize her life-long dream of
owning a cat.

| I'm glad that Leo's friends will be getting a kitty! I did want
to mention that there is a breed called the Bombay which is exactly
like the burmese except that is is jet black in color. Burmese
also have a dilute shade called champagne - they are gorgeous!
Good luck to the friends with the new baby!

I just wanted interested noters to note that there is a breed which
is black in color, and has _almost_ the same standard and appearence
as the Burmese..... In fact they are an offshoot of the breed.
