| I don't really have any idea what might be wrong, but it certainly
does sound like a trip to the vet *pronto* is in order -- hope it
is something that can be diagnosed and treated smoothly.
As for your concern about whether whatever-it-is could spread to
your other two cats... It is too late now for this, but its
probably a good idea to keep a new cat isolated from current
feline residents until the new arrival has been taken to the vet
and "passed" any testing that is done (for FeLV and anything else
that might be suggested during the exam). That way, if there IS
anything wrong, it can be treated before other cats are exposed;
if it is something serious and contagious, you'd still have the
opportunity to decide whether you even want to keep the new cat
and jeopardize the others.
Good luck, and keep us posted on how Three-way is doing!

| According to my vet, bloody stools in cats is not at all uncommon
when they have any sort of upset tummy. It could even be a reaction
to a strange "food" found in the trash. I know I panickd once when
one of my babies had a bloody stool, but I gave her some medication
to slow down her intestinal action and she was soon fine.

This happened to Basil after he consumed an entire Spider plant.
I almost panic until my husband pointed out pieces of undigested
plant along with the blood in the stool. The vet confirmed this
as the problem. Are you missing any plants? Are there other strange
materials your kitty might have consumed?
A trip to the vet's never hurts.

Nope no plants missing as the other little ones wouldn't
let me have a plant on the floor if I wanted to..... As far as
anything else she can't get into the trash and I can't think of
anything else she may have munched up all... However when she was
at the shelter they told me she was eating dry and canned and now
she eats the Iams with the rest of them. So she has had a diet
change. Her stools though are still very loose looking I was hoping
maybe the food would take care of that.
But off to the vet she will go tonight and I'm going
to also try to get some past history on her from the shelter. The
vet office I talked to first said it could be internal parasites.
She also expressed concern over her sleeping so much but I thought
maybe being minus her left front paw would tire her out easier so
I'm not sure if that is something stange for her. Thanks for all
the help and I'll let you know what the verdict is tomorrow.....

| Not as bad as I anticipated.... 3-way has a case of earmites
and of I believe she said round worms..... She isn't too happy
about the drops at all but I guess she will be when there gone.
So thanks to everyone that made me feel better as far as it not
being something terrible.
