760.0. "Vet in Worcester?" by HELIX::CZERNY () Thu Sep 10 1987 16:18

We just recently moved to Worcester and haven't found a vet for our
two cats. Can anyone recommend a vet in Worcester?

This note is someplace else but...

Witt Animal hospital on Main Street near Webster Square (where Main
    St and Park Ave meet).

I bleeve the place on Main St is called Witts.

I prefer to take Aja to Dr. Tashjian at the New England Animal
Medical Center on Prospect St., West Boylston.

Let me heartily discourage you from making Dr. Tashjian
of NEICM in W.Boylston your cat doctor. His specialty is
equines and personally I think he should stick to them.
I don't recommend NEICM in general, you can contact me
off-line for specifics if your interested. If you're going
to travel up Rte. 190, then go one more exit for the best
cat doctor around, Dr. Eileen Mulcahey of Central Animal
    hospital.

I totally agree with .3 - I can name others that feel the
same way in West Boylston where I live. On top of lousy
care the prices are out of sight. We use Abbott Animal
hospital in Wocester (north part of town and prefer Dr.
    Wayne Rocheleau.

Once they were unable to take an emergency on Sunday and we
were referred to Dr. Dan Rice in Holden (not far from Worcester)
and we were very impressed with this genuine concern and great
care. We were also shocked that his price was what I might have
expected for a regular visit, not emergency surgery. He is on
Industrial Drive in Holden (south part of town) and his phone
number is 829-6368. It is a very small, but very good clinic.

I heartily recommend the Shrewsbury Animal Hospital and
particularly Dr. Margaret Alberts (she has 26 cats of her own at
last count).

My wife and I drive 30 minutes each way just because of Dr.
Alberts.

The vet is located on Route 9 right next to the DEC plant (SHR).
