| Hi Matt! Sounds like a great show - my 3 entries are already in
and am waiting for confirmation! What facility are you at?

I'm at MRO1. 3 entries? You're going to have your hands full! What class(es)
are you entered in?
I'm not sure if I'll be showing our HHP there ... I'm the Master Clerk for the
show. Look me up when you get there. I usually sit next to the announcer.
BTW, of course the show will be fun ... it's my home club! ;^)

| Assuming I am up and about (have been out with a back problem for
a while...boring!) I will be there with my little kitten. She'll
be just 7 days past 4 months, so this is her very first chance for
a show!
Hope to see lots of you there,
Penelope

| Hi - all three entries are HHPs - I just mailed the fourth! Yes,
my hand sure will be full - 3 are kittens and this show will be
the fourth's first adult show. Actually, the kits are fun and
really not that hard - I will bring a shopping bag to each
ring !! Gee, if you speak to Judy before I do this evening,
please ask her to save a slot for my 4th entry!! I hope the
show hasn't closed yet - our show this weekend in Manchester
closed a week early. There were a lot of unhappy local campers
who didn't get their entries in early - lots of out-of-state
folk at this show!

| RE < Note 718.4 by MASTER::EPETERSON >:
> Are you part of the Goldman family of world wide Abyssinian fame?
I don't think so (?). Yes, we do breed Abys and do have a few Grands, but not
enough to be famous out of the Framingham area. If, however, you were
referring to Egyptian Maus, the statement may be true since there are not too
many breeders. One of our Master Grands placed in CFF's top ten this year ...
the first time a Mau has ever gone this far.
BTW, Abyssinians have past Siamese as the most popular shorthair.
Our cattery name is TEMEK. I am really no longer actively involved in the
breeding program; my mom and dad handle that.
Although we show in several associations, we concentrate on CFF. My dad (Elmer
or Rem) is a CFF judge and has been on various CFF committees/offices. My mom
(Tobe) is president of the National Egyptian Mau Cat Club and has been
president of Mass Colony Cat Club (sponsors the Framingham, Mass. show). I'm a
CFF Clerking Program Instructor and Licensed Master Clerk. My interests in the
cat fancy root back to when I was very young (obviously, since I'm not exactly
up there in years either!).
Sorry about rambling, but I hope this helps!

718.8 | Directions to show? | IMGAWN::OLOUGHLIN | | Fri Sep 11 1987 12:28 | 9 |
| Would really like to go to the show. Never been to one before.
Any one have directions to Keefe Tech ? I would be coming from
495 South.
Thanks,
Terry.
|
718.9 | Directions | BUFFER::HOFFMAN | Joan Hoffman, DTN: 276-9829 | Fri Sep 11 1987 15:04 | 19 |
| Terry,
Keefe Tech. is located in Framingham on Winter St. Winter St. connects
Rtes. 135 and 9. The best way from 495S: Rte 9 (towards Framingham). Take
a right at Temple St. (by Finally Michael's restaurant and the Stop & Shop
Plaza - light). At the end of Temple St., turn left onto Salem End Rd.
Follow Salem End Rd. to the 1st traffic light, which is Winter St., turn right
and continue on Winter St. to Keefe Tech. (which will be on your left). It's
a very large school, so you can't miss it.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
J.
P.S. By the way, how many of our fellow noters will be attending and/or showing
on the 27th?

718.10 | Registration Area for Noters | AQUA::GOLDMAN | Matt Goldman | Fri Sep 25 1987 10:15 | 11 |
| Since I'll be at the Announcer's table all day (being the Master Clerk), I
thought it would be nice if I served as sort of a "registration" area for
noters.
I'll try to set up a small sign for "DEC Feline Noter Registration". For those
showing you can leave your aisle number to help others find you. For those
visiting you can leave your name for the others to know that you've arrived.
In either case, I'd like to meet you anyway.
See ya Sunday.

718.11 | Thanks Matt! | GLINKA::GREENE | | Fri Sep 25 1987 10:46 | 14 |
| Thanks Matt!
Your registry will save us lots of time. I used to wander around
the cat shows with a copy of DTW?(Digital This Week) sort
of fanning myself so it would be very visible, but no DECcie ever
noticed. Got some peculiar stares from others -- everyone else
was walking around with cat show catalogues carefully displayed!
Elaine, WHERE did you get that great DIGITAL luggage tag that you
hang on your cage?
See several of you on Sunday, I hope!
Penelope

718.12 | maybe the Bedford Bookstore carries them.. | TOPDOC::TRACHMAN | | Fri Sep 25 1987 13:54 | 6 |
| I got that tag in Atlanta at the Hot Line Center! I, too, felt
strange with it on my cage - other exhibitors wondered what it
was for, but never asked! Hope to see you all there - the
registration sheet will be VERY helpful also.

718.13 | The Day After | AQUA::GOLDMAN | Matt Goldman | Mon Sep 28 1987 20:01 | 24 |
| Well the registry worked! Several noters were able to find each other at the
show yesterday.
Unfortunately I lost out ... I had absolutely no free time to stop by (5 full
rings kept me extremely busy!). One of these days I'll just go to the show
and NOT Master Clerk.
The following registered:
Elaine Trachman (exhibitor)
Bryan Williams (")
Penelope Green (")
Me and Susan Goldman (")
Theresa O'Loughlin
Joan Hoffman
I'll try this again at the Marlboro show in November.
I hope you all had a good time. I know Elaine did ... seeing all those awards
go by in her hands! ;^)
Bryan, we'll talk about the Clerking Program some time soon.
Congrats to all winners!

718.15 | Okay, here goes... | GLINKA::GREENE | | Tue Sep 29 1987 11:11 | 28 |
| Because Coo (aka Secret Princess) can't type, except for trotting
across the keys (including the break key :-( ), I'll tell the story
of her debut from her person's perspective...
In a five ring show, Coo did the following, in order:
(64 kittens entered)
Second best kitten, allbreed
Nothing -- at which point, I figured, well, at least I already
know we had fun, but it'll be all downhill from here
Sixth best kitten, shorthair
Ninth best kitten, shorthair
BEST KITTEN, ALLBREED
Mom is still amazed! Little Coo is oblivious! All she knows is
that each time she got returned to her cage, she got at treat.
Good stuff, these shows, she thinks! Yum.
Bryan, want to describe HOW the last ring went? You and your wife
saw how the judge made the awards and how I reacted!
Penelope, now REALLY a Cat_Lady!!!

718.16 | A VERY VERY proud Mom!!! | TOPDOC::TRACHMAN | | Tue Sep 29 1987 12:04 | 11 |
| This mom is VERY proud! My baby (just 4 months) Katenka was Best
Household Pet Kitten for the day. She took Best in her first ring!
Lara was 3rd Best Household Pet for the day - her first adult show!
Mister Miyagi and QuickSilvee both placed top ten - there were 19
kittens and 29 or 30 adults. All three babies did so well that
I don't know who to leave home - showing all 3 babies and Lara
is a bit much but.....guess it's going to be a busy season.
Great show! Thanks to Mass Colony!

718.17 | Yes, a good show | MIGHTY::WILLIAMS | Bryan Williams | Wed Sep 30 1987 10:21 | 16 |
| We are happy too. Our lilac-pt. Siamese got a Second Best and a
sixth best (which as Penelope pointed out, out of 65, isn't bad).
She (our kitten) didn't final in the other three.
As for Penelope in the last ring, I was standing next to her. The
judge starts at 10th and works up (normally). just being in the
final ring is good enough for most of us, but after every kitten,
10th, 9th, 8th, 7th, Penelope's eyes got wider and wider. The judge
had just finished the 6th best kitten, when he picked up Coo. We
were saying to each other, "Wow, she got ALL those rosettes!", when
the judge delcares "My BEST Kitten!" Penelope hit the roof! We all
did! It was great!
We did well, and congrads to all the winners.
