671.0. "DESPERATE FOR A HOME - PLEASE HELP" by OGOMTS::RYAN () Fri Jul 17 1987 12:24

I have a stray cat that sits outside my apartment (day and night)
I've asked everyone in the neighborhood about the cat - noone owns
it, nor knows who owns it. I've taken it upon myself to try and
find her a good home. I think she's been "dropped off" so to speak,
in the parking lot next door where she was for about 7 days before
she chose my bushes to sleep in. She furrows into the truck that
    holds the deli garbarge.

I cannot have her because I'm an apartment dweller, I was allowed
to have my one kitten who is now a cat. Although I have "strict"
orders I did try - NO GO. And this stray does not seem to be
interested in my cat. SO, PLEASE HELP!

    - She is a orange and white tabby
    - She is VERY friendly (which is why I think someone owned her)
    - She likes being outside but I have coaxed her inside and she seems
ok with that, until my cat appears, then she gets scared and wants
    out.
    - She's located in Ayer
    - I have NO idea if she spayed, and she does have claws although
she's never made a move to use them on me or my cat.
    - I live on a VERY busy street near the main street and she seems
to watch herself and the cars/people around her.

IF ANYONE could help me on this I'd really appreciate it. I started
feeding her because I felt bad for her and I'm a cat lover myself.
However, this can't go on. Unfortunately I don't feel that if I
took her to the shelter in our area she'd be placed right away and
I can't put her in a cage since she doesn't mind being outside.
The Humane Society near me also doesn't have such a HOT placement
record. If someone could adopt her I'm sure she'd be a wonderful
pet so I'd like to try this first - For her sake.

One more thing - she seems to be alert, can't detect any fleas in
her coat or around her and her eyes are clear.
