You can probably order from these catalogs - most of the catalogs
(general, not just cat catalogs) I have read (and that is quite a few)
state that they will ship out of the country, although for a little
    extra money.

Write to them and see if they will at least send you their catalog.
If they do that, then they will probably send you an order.

The Northeast Animal Shelter was a monumental help in
helping me find a home for my Leukemic cat.

They actually have a list of people looking to adopt
    FELV positive cats.

    Their address is:

                       204 Highland Ave.
                       Salem, MA

(The list is only about 10 names long,
but I got lucky on my second try!)

    GOODLUCK!!!

To Moderator: Please if you think this note may be more helpful
in some other topic move it to where it would be the most useful.

As some of you know I'm still searching for Pretty Boy :^(.
I refuse to give up even though it's been over 2 months and no sign
of him yet. I stumbled upon a number in the Catmopolitan I had
at home. I've looked thru before and it just didn't catch my eye
I guess. I believe the name of the ageny is Pet Finder so I figured
I'd wait till I called before filling people in. The woman was
ultra ultra nice and informed me that they have been doing this
since 1976. She explained basically to me the way they work. They
take down all your info on your lost pet and put it in the computer
data bank. She said they get about 50 calls daily but alot of them
are people calling on found pets. They feed this also in and once
your info is in they run a match. If they have a match they call
you right away if not your file will stay in there for at least
6 months. Also the computer prints out a lost report that is mailed
to all humane societies, shelters, and animal rescue leagues within
a 60 mile radius of the area you give. The only drawback with this
is pounds are not included :^(. They also advertise in 18 nationwide
papers for lost and founds. The lifetime membership fee is $49
and is tax deductible because of being a non profit organization.
I personally think that if this is as worthwile as it seems that
the local humane societies should have this number posted somewhere
or give it out to people when they have a lost animal or found.
Well I'll see how it works.... Nothing can hurt at this point.

                 The number is 1-800-666-LOST.

    Hi Jo,

I am on the phone with Blue Seal now - their main number is:

    508-686-4131 Dr. Marvin Colburn

They are checking with the switchboard to see if there is an 800
number you can call from your area.

The 800 number only goes as far as Western NY and PA - sorry, I
guess you will have to use their main number.

Dr. Colburn is getting the name of the closest dealer to you, which
would be in Ohio - they maybe could ship it to you if you wanted
to do that. He is going to call me back ...

They have very good prices on vaccines, but they are in California

I went to the lecture last night and it was VERY interesting and
helpful. Much of what they spoke about was directed at dogs, but
alot was equally applicable to cats.

I did want to enter the following phone number. It is open to
vets and laypersons alike. There is a $25 charge to call the
number tho so try your vet first.

    ANIMAL POISON CONTROL: 1-800-548-2423

If I get a chance, I'll type up my notes and enter them here.

Moderators: Please feel free to cross-reference this in any
                 appropriate files and keywords.

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign has a NATIONAL ANIMAL POISON CONTROL CENTER. This is
the first animal poison control center in the U.S., and is a non-profit
service. The phones are answered by licensed vets and board-certified
veterinary toxicologists. There are two phone numbers:

    	900-680-0000 ($2.75/min., 10 min. average)
    	800-548-2423 ($25/case, credit-card only)

With either access, the NAPCC does as many follow-up calls as necessary
in critical cases, and will consult with your vet (if you request).

If an animal has been poisoned, call the 900 number. You need to have
    the following information:

-Your name, address & phone number
-Species, breed, age, sex, weight, and number of animals involved
-The poison your animal(s) has(have) been exposed to, if known
-Information concerning the poisoning (amount, time since exposure,
    etc.)
    	-Problems your animal(s) is(are) experiencing

To get more information about the center's various services, contact:

I have a list of all household plants, with the clinical signs of
toxicity for each. It is important to know that some non-toxic plants
    can become toxic in animals.

    Hope this helps.

    Purrs to all!

666.39Is note 666.3 still correct?SOLVIT::IVESThu Oct 03 1991 15:1414
Does anyone know if the address published in the this note in
1987 for Haddeleigh House is still correct.

I think it is note 5 or 6.

My daughter wants to order one of their hammocks on the wire
frame. (She bought the cheapie and her cats love it, I bought
the PVC pipe hammock and no one in my house uses it. sigh)
The hammock Holly bought is on a heavy wire type frame and
has artificial like lambs wool on it.

    Thanks for your help.
