573.0. "My Manx" by WR1FOR::ERRIDGE_CA () Fri May 01 1987 13:56

I am a new employee to DEC and a new subscriber to Feline.
I would like to take this oppurtunity to introduce my family, three
    crazy Manx cats.
About 18 months ago I moved into a house in San Jose C.A. and was
immeadiately adopted by a scheming feline. At that time I was tolerent
of cats but not a lover. Against my better judgement and advice
of friends I began to develop a relationship with "Rosebud", food
    always works.
This scheming Lady wormed her way into my heart although she frequently
left me to return to her true owners. During this courtship "Rosebud"
began to get a shiny coat and gain weight. How niave I was, the
weight gain was not due to food, the huzzy.
Just a year ago "Rosebud" presented me with 3 kittens, 2 female,
one male. Each was different from each other in coloring and
disposition. As soon as the kittens were old enough to fend for
themselves, "Rosebud", returned to her home. I guess we are divorced,
do not receive kitten support though.
This past year has been wonderful watching the 3 of them grow, and
further develop characteristics unique to each, yet in a lot of
    ways the same.
Let me introduce them to you:

    	MUFFIN
Muffin is a black and white, with spats, long hair. She has a small
corkscrew stump tail which is very sensitive. She is the most
affectionate of the three and loves to play kitty soccer in the
guest bath tub. Her purr has to be heard to be believed.

    	MOANER
Yes-Moaner, this kitten cannot Meow, just moan-true manx style.
She is Grey, Yellow, Black stripped. Very aloof except when I am
working in the Study. Moaner picks up pens. moving papers and lays
on my subject matter. She is not starved for affection, it is that
she likes to be with me in the study, must be going for her Ph.D.

    	MAURICE
This is Mr Macho, he struts his stuff, is aloof until he needs
affection then look out. When he is in an affection fix state he
will not leave me alone, its rather rare so i make the most of it,
I am well trained. Unlike Muffin and Moaner, who have some of their
mothers coloring, Maurice is pure Orange Tiger Stripe and is short
haired. He costantly stands guard over his sisters protecting them
    from other "critters".

I am amused that as each kitten relaxes during affection acceptance
time they DRIBBLE, is that a sign of contentment or what?

Well thats my family, I have come a long way, from Tolerent of cats
    to fanatical LOVER!!!

So that's how you became such a devoted cat lover!!??

I had been wondering how it was that you had three cats that were
related. Seems Rosebud knew exactly what she was doing.

So... does this mean that you will *understand* when I have to call
in beause I'm playing midwife to my cat??? 8^) Just kidding.....

PS - I still think that we should get your three in a cat show!
How about the 24th of May? It is in San Jose....

    WELCOME

Glad to see that you and the 3 M's (Muffin, Moaner and Maurice) could
join us. We here at FELINE are very active - as are our pets -
in the spring time (have you noticed the increase in replys in the
    last month?)

Good thing it was an aby, cause then you'd really have been hooked.
And three abys in one house could be a logical reason to drink.

(three maine coons in onme house means you live elsewhere)

Welcome to the only sane notesfile

    re: .3
I hadn't thought of it that way before.
My two maine coons think they own me as well as the house.
One cat freaks at the vacuum cleaner (what are you doing to my
    house?!!)
The other cat thinks it was all her idea and follows you around
and watches each piece of fuzz get gobbled up. She looks real
proud when it is all cleaned up - like she had something to do with
    it!

There is nothing that bums me out more than having "no more new
notes" appear on my screen while I am in feline. I have noticed
an increase in the amount of notes. I think it can be attributed
to the amount of new people that are just joining us. Lets keep
    up the good work.

It must be the season for noters...I've been awfully busy at work
and can usually spare only a few minutes a day for non-work notes,
but imagine my suprise when I did an update and had 238 unread feline
notes after a week!! I'll never catch up.....
