534.0. "DFW kitty needs new home" by VIDEO::TEBAY () Mon Mar 30 1987 12:06

My sister died last March and now her housemate is moving to
California. She will be taking the dog but not the cat.

I hope there are some DFW noters who might consider adoption.
If all fails I will take her but I am very concerned about
her fiting in with my four as she is used to being topcat.

Molly is a Siamese(no papers) and has been spayed. She is
seven years old and is used to going outside through her
cat door. She is toliet trained! She is a very affectionate
cat and used to living with a small dog and two older women.

Molly prefers non-smokers- another reason she might not do
    well at my place.

The deadline is June. I hope that Molly can remain in DFW
with a nice person. I knowq I HATE being exiled in New England.

She has had all her shots and has been very healthy. She
took to going out more when my sister died as she was really
her cat. But she is over the depression now and would make
    someone a nice pet.

Well Molly arrived Sunday from Dallas to Maynard. Delta
couldn't find her for an hour even with the waybill.

She is real spooky.. Having 4 cats stare at you is unsettling
I would imagine. She has spent most of her time in the
bed or couch.(Not on top-in-the under lining has been ripped
by the other cats and she gets up into the springs)

She did come out a little last night and explore so maybe
    she will adjust.

Well, I had to move two weeks after Molly came and the move
helped here. All the cats were spooky in the new place but
Molly was the second one out to explore and now considers the
place her home. I guess because there was no cat smell in the
new place she decided to make it hers.

Anyway she is now one of the bunch and hold her own. She always
comes running to me when I get home and greets me and asks for
    petting.

I guess moving is a drastic way to get a new kitty to adapt
to surroundings but it worked. It wasn't planned that way
though. I didn't want to move but had to and found a place
    quickly.

Anyway bottom line is that Molly is part of the family now.
There are still some hisses etc. but no more than is usual
    with 5 cats.
