476.1 | Are you set on a purebred? | PUZZLE::CORDESJA | | Fri Feb 13 1987 19:28 | 6 |
| What breed of cat are you looking for? There are alot of breeders
who participate in this notes file. Amongst us there are Maine
Coons, Abys, Persians, Russian Blues, Birmans, Burmese to name a
few. I may have left some out as I'm doing this from memory.
Let us know if any of us can help you.

476.2 | No, they're gone! | PARITY::WHALEN | Denise | Mon Feb 16 1987 17:25 | 8 |
| Prettypuss does not exist. They packed up and left the state,
in Colorado Springs now. They can stay there, I wouldn't recomend
them to anyone anyway.
Are you looking for Coons or persians, that is what they had.

476.3 | Thanks.... | MYVAX::LSCHWARTZ | | Tue Feb 17 1987 07:23 | 8 |
| Thanks for the info. I'm not really sure what I'm looking for yet,
But generally I'm looking for a good indoor cat. I don't really
care if the cat is a pure breed or a mut as long as it is nice looking
and seems to have a good personality (sounds like I'm looking for
a date not a cat). I would like a young kitten rather than a cat
because I'll know more about its health, etc. I went to the MSPCA
to look for a kitten but they didn't have many, mostly full grown
cats.

476.4 | Where are the kittens? | HULK::ROSS | Border guard at the bad taste boundary | Tue Feb 17 1987 10:40 | 6 |
| I'm also on the lookout for a kitten... Calls to local vets, pet shops,
and humane societies have all been negative because I guess it's not the
season... When will kittens start coming available? We're most interested
in a short haired kitten which will be a 100% indoor cat. Persian types
don't suit our taste. Pictures of Russian Blues seem interesting.. do they
fill the bill?

476.5 | CXO crew: avoid Prettypuss! | EUCLID::PAULHUS | Chris @ MLO 8-3/T13 DTN 223-6871 | Tue Feb 17 1987 11:16 | 4 |
| Prettypuss sold a number of sick kittens which have carrier physical
or behaviorial defects into adulthood. Deniese and I can attest
to this. Good ridance! Anyone in CXO, get the word out - avoid
this outfit! - Chris

476.6 | Russian Blues great for indoors! | GLINKA::GREENE | | Tue Feb 17 1987 13:26 | 19 |
| I got my first two Russian Blues in 1978 because I was told they
were extremely affectionate (and those two couldn't possibly be
more affectionate!). I have heard Russian Blues described as "one
person" cats, but I'm not sure I agree. I think they are "one
house" cats: any person who enters the house is immediately greeted
by purring grey fuzzies who will jump on a lap -- any lap -- at
the first opportunity. True, they were more active as kittens,
but they have always greeted us at the door, etc.
All my cats are strictly indoor (too much traffic, for one thing),
and they don't seem to mind. There will be an occasional escape
to the front lobby or porch: once there, the prospective escapee
will crouch down in terror, and will then dart *fast* around the
pursuing human and back into the house!
With spring on the way, there should be increasing numbers of kittens
available both from breeders and shelters. I hope to have some
kittens available later this spring...if Quicksilver can do his
duty with Nutmeg and Tag-Along...

476.7 | a short wait til kittens are in abundance | PUZZLE::CORDESJA | | Tue Feb 17 1987 17:29 | 3 |
| With most females in the "breeding mood" about now it will be anywhere
from 2 months to 4 months before kittens are bountiful.
