| I guess I could use my cat Jasper's name. Actually, I could probably use
Chayna's, too. I never thought about using them for refunds, though! Hmm...

| Erick gets mail all the time. It comes to Erick T. Blue. When I was a software
specialist and worked trade shows, I would go check out the competition with a
registration badge that didn't say DIGITAL on it. I would register as Erick T.
Blue of Aleph-Nought Software Products.
I once filled out an inquiry card in the back of an airline magazine for Erick.
I told them that he is vice-president of Aleph-Nought. He got all sorts of
interesting mail. Ads for books so that he can tell if his employes are on
drugs, ads for management courses, etc. The best thing he got was a letter from
the government of Panama asking him to build his next factory in Panama (taxes
are low, land is cheap, labor is cheap).
A friend has a cat named Siva the Destroyer. Her cat gets mail as S. LeDtroier.

| if that { is a "u" with a carat over it, yes. Nazzie is named for the
Black Riders in Tolkie's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Their collective name
is Nazgul(imagine the carat for now). The word "ring" in the language of
Mordor is nazg. The black riders are ringwraiths thus Nazgul.
The cat is appropriately named. He's solid black, a hell raiser, likes to
attack at night and is constantly trying to chew my rings off my fingers.

three last names in the house to use. However, poor Bitser would feel
descriminated against.

re 12: Are you sure that they become our dependents? I think they have
other thoughts!!!

| I haven't used any of my cat's names for "one per household/family"
offers, but I *have* for things like magazine subscriptions.
Why? Easy: By doing so, I can see who's selling their mailing lists!
My late cays' names (Morgan, Nianinne, and Angelica) were used for items
such as _TV Guide_ and _US News and World Report_. I haven't too many
subscriptions now, but should these proliferate, I'd add my current Merlin,
Vivianne, Morlock, and Karamaneh. My fianee's Sammy might be used, but
given the credibility level of the other names, I might reserve him for the
"one-per" offers, now that someone's brought that to my attention.

| I wonder if any humans ever even look at the names. Somewhere somebody
entered "J. 6Dyer" instead of "J. G. Dyer," and they've sold the name/address
to quite a few people. Now "J. 6Dyer" gets all kinds of mail!

| Re .21:
We can all tell those kinds of horror/humor stories. "P. R. Depart-
ment" has had more than one computer-generated letter starting out,
"Dear Mr. Department:". Such accidental typos also assist greatly in
tracking mailing list sales; however, using feline names means that one's
cat will always be immortalized in who knows how many data files....

| Good idea, Jym. My two guys are called
Ashley van Grayson (a black smoke persian)
and Skyler van Grayson (a blue smoke persian)
and I am sure that they will enjoy getting their own copies of
"The Sharper Image" catalogue and offers to apply for an
American Express card. Ashley (a.k.a. Mr. Dignity) will then
proceed to order pipe stands and smoking jackets over the
phone (and put it on his AMEX...), and Skybunny will order a
canoe from L.L. Bean.
All this in order to let them express their individuality...
