3737.0. "Source code for P.S.I V4.3" by WOTVAX::DENNISONE () Tue Feb 18 1997 09:03

Does anyone have access to the source code for P.S.I. V4.3? A customer
of ours (BT/Syntegra) are running this version of P.S.I. Analyzing
crash dumps involving processes such as LES$ACP is difficult without
having some idea of what the process was doing.

Any help in locating any source code would be much appreciated.

What use is there in analyzing a crash dump on a product that is no longer
supported? Even if you had the source code and were able to identify the
problem, engineering won't fix the problem, since the product is no longer
supported.

In any event, you might try one of the CSC's - they used to get copies of source
listings for many of the networking products (though I don't remember if P.S.I.
was one of them).

The source code for both P.S.I. V4.3 and LES V2.0 have now been
archived. Even if the source code or listing were still really
available analysing a dump without having a some knowledge of LES
concepts would be very difficult and time consuming. If you had found
the problem then what, as the product is unsupported engineering will
not provide a fix. Also because of the way LES loads the various
images that make up the product, it this case P.S.I., you can not patch
a image with the PATCH utility (to be precise you can as long as you do
    not us any patch areas).

I really believe that your best course of action is to get the customer
    to upgrade to a DECnet/OSI.
