I have a problem using ftp from an NT system connecting to a MVAX
running VMS 6.1 and UCX 4.1, details as follows:-
Multia NT 3.5.1 Server SP5 FTP>connection to ...
MVAX 3100-90 VMS 6.1 UCX 4.1
After connection connected no username or password prompt displayed.
Connection eventually times out with User none unknown.
If I type a username followed by a password an ftp prompt is finally
returned after approximately one minute. You are able to do a dir or
ls. However when I tried to put some files I kept getting record too
large errors.
I can successfully connect to an Alpha running VMS 7.1 and UCX 4.1
which responds with the the username and password prompts, I can also
successfully connect to other VMS systems running VMS 5.5-2 UCX 3.3 ECO
level 4 and transfer files without problems.
Anybody got any ideas what the problem is?
regards Al

Do you have two systems with the same IP address?
If you unplug the VAX from the network, does the FTP connection
succeed?

Each system has a unique IP address in the same subnet.
Are there any patches I should be running on top of UCX, does VMS 6.1
support UCX 4.0 or 4.1?

Is it possible that the FTP server images are not properly installed?
The INET_ACP could be accepting the connections then attempting to
start the server, but not having any success.
