Note 999.0 IP not supported after install? duuh? 6 replies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just upgraded from OpenVMS V6.1 to V6.2. I thought that I'd try the
new IP features (as I've had UCX V3.2 installed for a while) and did
    the following:

    $ dir/ftp
A Phase 1 Integration compliant OpenVMS TCP/IP product has not been
installed or properly configured on this system.
    %SYSTEM-E-UNSUPPORTED, unsupported operation or function

    Er, I looked for on-line help...searched SYS$STARTUP:for something
    *ip*.com to be started....not a clue. Where should I look for on-line
help or what does it want me to do beyond installing UCX etc.?

    Thanks,
    j

This should probably continue in LASSIE::UCX. KP7 etc.

Did you try re-installing V3.2 after upgrading VMS to V6.2? It may not
have been necessary to go to UCX V3.3.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OpenVMS V6.2 requires a integration compliant TCP/IP stack for the new
commands. TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS V3.3 (UCX) is the first release to
support this functionality. V3.2 won't do it. (Well, SET HOST /RLOGIN
    might work.)

Since the latest cd set has ucx 3.2, may I inquire how one locates a kit
for ucx 3.3? Is there a product / location cross reference on the net
 somewhere?
 thanks

Try in the UCX conference (LASSIE::UCX), there's a pointer in there somewhere.
